Obituary of Lucia Delicata

Lucia Delicata, born in Sora, Frosinone, Italy on November 3, 1938, passed peacefully in Windsor, Ontario on February 15, 2021, and now rests in Heaven with her late Husband Enzo, and is reunited with her parents Antonio and Rosa Serapiglia. Dearest daughter-in-law to the late Ernesto and Lucia Delicata, sister-in-law to Carmela Tomassi (late Vincenzo) and Rita Ciancio (late Beniamino). She leaves behind her three children, Marisa (Armando), Ernesto (Mileva), Tony (Michelina), her eight grandchildren (Daniela, Sabrina [Alexander], Angela, Giordano, Riley, Bianca, Alexandra, Sydney), five great grandchildren (Alanna, Alyssa, Luke, Jack, Ava), as well as her many nephews, nieces and relatives. Lucia’s everlasting love for her family is commemorated in her unforgettable smile, her love of gardening, cooking and the outdoors. She graced us with constant life lessons, reminders to forgive and love wholly. She was special to all who knew her, and every memory made with her was remarkable. Lucia’s grandchildren will especially remember all the cherished years of exploration in her luscious gardens and sharing meals as a family each holiday. The end of summer brings fond memories of making fresh tomato sauce with family and friends to “help”, laugh and enjoy together. Family was of the greatest importance to Lucia, and it was through her ongoing efforts that we are able to remain a close-knit family despite any geographical distances between us. Her time shared with her dearest friend Maria Marra developed into a bond of love, trust and mutual respect. As Heaven gains an Angel, we reflect on the precious moments we spent with Lucia and cherish them always. The Delicata family would like to thank our extended family, friends, and neighbours for their loving support and acts of kindness during this difficult time. We would like this time to be seen as a commemoration and celebration of her life, her legacy and the family line she held together and loved so passionately.
