Fr. Mizzi's passing deeply saddens me. As a new teacher just out of college, I could not have asked to work for a better boss/principal. Teaching at CC, my Alma Mater as a 23 year old teaching 17 year old young men, many whose families I knew well was challenging and he was always supportive, understanding and compassionate. He had a huge positive impact on my life. Thank you Fr. Mizzi, may you rest in peace.,

I was very shocked and saddened when I learned of Fr. Frank's passing. I tried calling him today with bday greetings but when I couldn't get through, I checked online to see if his contact info has changed. I was speechless when I saw the obituary for him! Our family will miss Fr. Frank tremendously....he was such a big part of our family's lives and provided spiritual guidance to me and my husband, my daughters, my sisters and their families. We will miss the Masses that he celebrated numerous times at our house (before the pandemic). I remember I would tease him about Filipino desserts being "sugar-free" just so he would have some but he knew I was lying! I remember the chats that we had throughout the pandemic and how we missed the house gatherings. Fr. Frank will always be with us in spirit and we pray for eternal rest for him. We also pray for his family for strength and peace.

Our condolences to Fr. Mizzi's family. He was a great friend and priest. At Catholic Central High School he was well liked by all of the students and was someone I looked up to. He married me and baptized all of my four children. We enjoyed having dinners and of course, cocktails with him and listening to his stories about his trips to Vegas and Atlantic City and area casinos. He was a very cool guy.

While I did not stay in touch with Fr. Franklin over the years, I can’t express how much his kindness had such a lasting impact on my life. He helped get me into Catholic Central as a transfer student in addition to providing resources to help minimize the overall cost of such a world class education. His support helped to put me on a path for lifelong success as I know he did for many others. It’s important to realize how kindness can have a great impact in life. Thank You Fr. Franklin for being a good man, you epitomize success. Quality of life just went up in heaven! Rest in Peace.

Father Franklin had touched so many of us while we were studying in University of Windsor back in early 80s. As a chaplain in the Campus Ministry with such friendly and caring demeanour, Father Franklin was approached by many students and families for advice and counselling. I was very grateful that Father Franklin was available to me during my teenage/young adulthood, when I faced crossroads in life and in relationships! His advice and his insights into human relationships had helped me tremendously! He is truly a messenger of God! We are so blessed to have Father Franklin, who has been a living example of God’s unconditional love and grace to all who encountered him. We’ll always remember you …. your wonderful singing of “Blessed are You Lord, God of all creation, through You goodness Lord…..”
May you rest in God’s arm and Mary’s embrace, Father Franklin.

We were so sorry to hear of Fr. Franklin's death. He was a great friend of our Uncle Jack (Fr. Jack) and the two of them would make regular visits to see our parents in Bramalea. Dad always called him Mizzi and sure enjoyed their visits. In later years we would make the trip from the GTA to Windsor and Franklin would have cocktails and melted cheese on crackers ready for us. Some times he would make dinner and other times we would go out for dinner, followed by a visit to the casino!!!
Franklin had such a wonderful personality and we are so thankful to have had Franklin in our lives. He was 'family' and all the Callaghans will miss him

Today, with sincere sadness, I learned about the passing of Reverend Franklin Mizzi
a classmate of mine at Assumption High, Class of '56. Frank was an extraordinary person then, serious, calm, studious and it is little wonder he entered the priesthood in the Congregation of St. Basil. A Basilian , a product of those Basilian Fathers who taught and guided all of us into adulthood. One need only read his obituary to realize what their influence was and why Fr. Frank was the best of the best. The last time we met and spoke was at our 50 year class reunion. He remained the same man, quiet and sincere. A wonderful classmate who has been rewarded with the right to sit at the right hand of the Lord. His was a life well lived. He will rest in peace.

I met Franklin in the mid 1970's when he was Principal of Catholic Central. We became good friends while he gave me instruction in the Catholic Faith and played golf weekly at the Seminary near Detroit. In the winter we would go bowling weekly. He was one of my best friends and always interested in having conversations whether philosophical, religious or just plain life. I helped friends and my brother in law Don move Franklins furniture from his apartment on 5 mile road to his 3rd floor apartment in Windsor. Quite a move! I loved Franklin as a friend and had a chance to have a telephone conversation with him several months ago.
He will always have a special place in my heart and fond memories of our times together.
Love,
Bob Mueller

I am so grateful that Fr. Franklin became a part of my life through the Goyeau family. Grandma Goyeau, Uncle Chris, and Auntie Pam Goyeau opened their hearts and home to Fr. Franklin over 50 years ago and he became part of our ‘family’ on this side of this river. With every family function there was no question that a beverage would be ready and a table would be cleared to play Pinochle and Fr. Franklin was right at the heart of the game with Uncle Chris, Auntie Pam, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Howard, Aunt Bev., Uncle Mike, Joyce, Aunt Marilyn or Uncle Jerry gracing the other chairs. The odd time a cousin was recruited to fill a slot to keep the game going but most of us avoid as we are faint of heart! Lol
As the years passed and the family grew there was not a Goyeau or Gignac function where Fr. Franklin was not invited and usually present for as we immersed our lives around him. Later in years he became inseparable from Uncle Chris and Auntie Pam as they filled a hole left by the loss of his dear friend Father Jack.
Our Fr. Franklin was loved and cherished by every family member as an honorary brother, uncle, friend or confidant and he shall be dearly missed by us all! His eyes shone with love, his smile infectious, his laugh contagious, his wisdom enviable, his advice brilliant and his love constant! May the gates of heaven open wide my dear Franklin to welcome you into the arms of your Lord Saviour and May you continue your prayers for our family here on earth until we meet again!

Frank and I were lucky enough to have Franklin in our life. He married us and baptized both of our girls at St. Pius X parish in Southgate where he weekend assisted when Jennifer was little. We would sit in the cry room with her and Frank would indicate to Franklin to cut “short” his sermons. He liked to talk. We always enjoyed seeing him & Father Jack at family gatherings, weddings and even funerals. May you Rest In Peace, Franklin, good and faithful servant. We will certainly miss you. Say hello to Frank and all from us. Love, Joanie Miruzzi
