As I conveyed my sympathies at the visitation and on the Windsor Star condolences, I repeat that I consider Wilf to have been a gift to the University of Windsor, teacher education, and the institutions of the Windsor Community, and the Province of Ontario.
We were colleagues for many years and I benefited from his example, support, skills. I admire Jane for her consistent support of her beloved during the periods of Wilf's service and during his ill health. Their family bodes well for a positive succession.
He will be missed but not soon forgotten. Would that I had gotten to know him more personally and in depth.

I am deeply saddened by Wilf's death. We joined the Faculty of Education at Windsor in the same year, and what a wonderful colleague he proved to be: knowledgeable, wise and supportive. For approaching half a century, he was also my cherished friend. I shall never forget his warm and generous spirit, his ready wit, and the glint that was never far from his eye.

I got to know Wilf when he was working to create better recognition of credits by Universities of College credits and better cooperation between Universities and Colleges to the benefit of students. He was so right and I applauded his work
Later we were both involved in advancing the planning for our new hospital project.
Wilf contributed much to post secondary education in our Province and to health care in our community. He will be missed but his life will be celebrated!

Jane and Family....My condolences to you for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Wilf for a number of years, both as a fellow professor, and while he was Dean of Education. He was a good colleague who truly cared for all students. Over the years, Wilf contributed a great deal the the growth of the Faculty of Education, and the entire University of Windsor community. He was a good person, whose leadership and guidance will be missed. Michael Awender---Phoenix, Arizona

I came to know Wilf quite well in recent years when we were on the Windsor Regional Hospital Board together. Wilf chaired the board for a time, and he was an excellent chair, and I later chaired the board. He was unfailingly polite and considerate in his dealings with all. As chair, he had to handle some tricky situations and did so diplomatically and effectively. I also have memories of running into Wilf and Jane at many cultural events, from the symphony to the film festival. I will miss seeing him around.. My condolences go to Jane and the rest of the family. Sincerely, Lynne Watts

Wilf Innerd, his wife Jane, and their lovely family were instrumental in attracting us to the UU Church of Olinda a quarter century ago. Wilf’s wonderfully wry wit and lively intellect, together with Jane’s warmth, generosity, attention to detail, and their love of music and commitment to social justice, represented much of the soul of this liberal religious community in the county wilderness and inspired our service to it. My wife Bobbye and I treasure our memories of many discussions and happy experiences together.

For Jane...I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know if you remember me, but I was the horticulturist in Dieppe Park, retired in 2011. You and your husband attended my retirement get-together at the City greenhouse. That meant the world to me, and I have a great photo of us! You both were "regulars" in the Park.
Once again, my deepest sympathies to you, Jane, and your family.

Wilfred and Jane have been friends and neighbors of mine for over twenty years. We frequently enjoyed wonderful conversations on so many interesting and varied topics. Wilfred was always so engaging and passionate when sharing lifelong stories of his service time in Egypt (for which he was so very proud and rightly so) as well as literature, theater, world and local politics or any subject that came to mind from his incredible life journey. I will greatly miss those animated and lively discussions with this very distinguished and remarkable man. My sincerest condolences to Jane and family on the loss of their husband, father. teacher, mentor and friend.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and neighbor Wilf. We first got to know him more than 40 years ago when he coached one of our young sons in soccer. Our paths crossed again many years later when we served on various committees and the Board of Windsor Regional Hospital where we both served terms as chairman. The last phase of our relationship was five years ago when we moved into the same condo complex and that is when we met his delightful wife Jane. They welcomed us by inviting us for tea. Wilf was fun to be around with his infectious sense of humor, and his dedication to the community and helping others was unmatched. Our deepest sympathies to Jane and the entire Innerd family.

I know this might not be appropriate, but Wilf was my beautiful mum’s first boyfriend back in Durham! She then fell in love with a Dutchman and he fell in love with the wonderful Jane - and they all became fast friends for the rest of their lives (which really wasn’t long enough)!

Wilf was a combination of knowledge, humour and compassion. Julian and Wilf spent hours discussing from world politics to University of Windsor issues. If there is an afterlife they would be doing just that. We have known Wilf and Jane or more than 40 years. Both have been part of our family. I wish I had the magic wand to ease the emotional pain to Jane and the children. I am with you all.
