It's with a heavy heart that I share with you the news of my father's passing.
James (Jim) Brewer, my dad, was a vitally strong pillar in my life! As many of you know, he was like an encyclopedia of knowledge. Ask him a question and he always had an answer and even if he didn't he would probably BS one. Sometimes he would get you fully invested in his made up answer as fact, then would laugh and tell you he didn't actually know.
This is because, my dad, like many great fathers of our time was also a part time comedian. He was telling "dad jokes" before they were known as such. My dad was an amazing source of constant knowledge and laughter.
It's because of this I carry the belief that one person can be knowledgeable about a lot of things but when the world proves you wrong, you have to be able to laugh it off.
Character traits and stories are what help us remember a person after they are gone. Now he can again share his traits and our stories with my brother and other loved ones in the afterlife. I'll confess that I'm a bit jealous I won't be able to listen to those stories and share in that laughter.
I love you dad, you will be deeply missed!
