With "Uncle" Herbert (a cousin of my father) the last one of his generation has gone as I know. He and the most of this family have been born in the Volhyn-Area (part of Poland from 1922 to 1945, today part of Ukraine) in a small town near Rivne/Rowno called Sucho Rogi, which today never more exists. They had to emigrate several times, first from Volhynia to the Warthegau (west of Poland), then to Germany, and after that some of them to Canada, the USA and other countries. I met him only one time since he left Germany, sometime between 1981 and 84 on a visit in Germany. And more than 35 years later he remembered that. In the last years I had the chance to phone with him, the last at his last birthday. I had the feeling that he was very happy to hear from his family in Germay. So rest in peace uncle Herbert, and be part of our heavenly family. Some day we will meet again.
