Vickie, Mickey and Donna,
Our condolences on Phil's passing - he and you all will be in our prayers. Phil was a very caring person and very generous with his time. Always offering his time to emcee events. Always the life of the party - always a joke to tell. We remember many good times with Phil and Vickie both on and off the golf course. He will be missed.

Every Schalamar North party was made so special by Phil who made us laugh and smile every year. His friendliness and humour will be missed by all who knew him. The burgundy Pacifica he lent to us for a day convinced us to purchase that exact car just weeks later and it is sitting in our Schalamar driveway today, always a reminder of Phil. To Vicky and family we send sincere condolences and apologize for all those times we ruined Phil’s golf games as he so often told us. Goodbye to a great man. Barry and Sandra Jamieson.

Vicky and Family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Andrea and I have so many fond memories from SWMBA. We truly enjoyed our short conversations after church on Sundays. Phil would be serious at times but always genuinely wanted to know how you were doing and would throw in some funny one liners just to make sure we left smiling. He certainly will be missed.
Vicky, Mickey and Donna, we are sure you have many great memories to comfort you when you miss him the most.
With sincerest condolences,
Tom and Andrea Jones

To all the Jacob Family Members,
The Altenhof family members offer our deepest sympathies on the passing of Mr. Jacob. We were very sorry to receive word about the passing of such a fine Gentleman, who, with only the characteristics that Mr. Jacob possessed, brightened the world and all the people he met.
My (Willie Altenhof) greatest memory of Mr. Jacob is the incredible kindness and mercy which he demonstrated to me after I hit him with a golf ball at Lakewood golf course on the 11th hole at the green. After discovering I hit Mr. Jacob, I was devastated and could not contain my emotions. I felt terrible, sorrow for Mr. Jacob, embarrassed, and everything horrible which a person would feel being responsible for such an event. In only a manner that Mr. Jacob could present, he saw my pain, forgot about his own trauma, and presented his humorous manner and jokes to turn me around during his suffering. Mr. Jacob you were a blessing and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity in my life to experience your spirit, kindness, and love for friends.
Thank you Mr. Jacob for being such an incredible man and thank you to all the Jacob family members for sharing such a great person with many others.
Rest in peace.
With sincere condolences,
The Altenhof Family members (Laura, Danny, Willie (daughter and sons of the late Jack Altenhof), Andrea, Michael, and Jacob)

Ah, so many memories of Mr Jacob! Listening to his funny stories, showing us all his hats, throwing up in the back of his car, speaking at our wedding and fondly seeing him walk at Tecumseh Mall and having a chat with all the gals. You will be very missed. Xo

Joyce & I extend our deepest condolences to you, Victoria & your entire family.
I missed several opportunities to visit you on my way south, that I regret, but our telephone conversation made up for this.

Sincere condolences to Vickie and all of the Jacob family. Phil was a truly remarkable person and a very good friend. I don’t know anyone else who was able to stay in close touch with everybody in his life from childhood until the day he passed. He always had a smile, a joke that we had all heard 100 times but still found funny no matter how many times he told it. He was well known for his fast facts and statistics about every sports figure in history which he always told us at our bi-weekly dinner. We actually had no idea if they were true or not and most of us couldn’t figure out how to use google, even if we had a phone capable of googling so we took him at his word.
RIP Old friend. You will be so missed.

My condolences go out to the Jacob family. I met Phil thru golf with the Chrysler Hi Drivers. Always enjoyed the rounds we had together at Lakewood and Little River. I worked for 12 years in Baton Rouge Louisiana and Phil and I would often talk about the LSU Tigers football team. Phil was a great guy and a better character. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Dear Jacob Family.
Phillip was a special and spectacular man . We also have our own favourite Phil Jacob story!
Phil and my Dad, William Casanova, aka "Willie" were close friends, both attending Patterson Collegiate and playing basketball together. Like Phil, Willie had his own athletic prowess. (A multi-sport athlete, eventually playing semi-professional baseball.) Over the many years and many miles apart, Phil phoned my Dad. It didn't matter who answered the call, Phil would say, "Hi. It's the guy who carried Willie all the way through high school". Everytime! Dad loved it! We all laughed. Phil would even phone him at work with the same catch phrase. Always introducing himself to the secretarial staff, with, "It's the guy who carried Willie all the way through high school." The ladies would laugh, transferring the call with glee, eventually, repeating the same refrain!
In 1979, Patterson Collegiate was demolished. Phil mailed my Dad a brick. Writing in the accompanying note " ... this brick is all that remains of our high school. The site has been replaced by a grocery store. Our old home room is now the Frozen Food section."
We remember Phillip with very fond memories and are saddened for your loss.
All our Love,
Connie Casanova (wife)
Patti Rose and Anne-Marie (daughters)
