It is with extreme sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, John Poulson, on October 18, 2021, at WRH Met Campus. John leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Connie (nee Little), his beloved daughter Jennifer Rooney (Joe), cherished grandchildren, Brittnee Poulson, Rylee, Ethan (2011), Mackenzie and Nathan Rooney.
Dear son of the late Claude (2003) and Fern (2019). Predeceased by his sister, Diane (1987 (George) and brother, Tim (2001) (Gisele). Survived by brother Stan (Darlene) and brother Dennis (Danielle 2021) as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. John was welcomed into the “Little” family from Courtright and was predeceased by in-laws, Ken and Thelma, Jerry, (Barb) Donna and Jim Guthrie, Sheff Sheffield and Wayne (B-lou). Survived by sisters-in-laws Dianne (Al) Storey of Corunna and Karen (Paul) Cervellero of Feasterville PA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
John retired as Director of Finance for the City of Windsor after 35 years of service. John spent his younger years playing many sports and was especially proud of being on the Herman All-City basketball team. He enjoyed playing many sports throughout the years and remained a “couch” sports fan in his later years. But, his “happy” place was at his cottage on Crystal Lake in the Kawarthas where he was the proud owner of a cottage for thirty years, and where he welcomed many, many relatives and friends; enjoyed taking them for boat rides around the Lake; and cooking gourmet meals for them.
John made a lasting impact that will live in the hearts of all those who were blessed to have known him.
