Obituary of Leonard Patrick Kavanaugh

KAVANAUGH- Leonard Patrick

It is with profound sadness that the children of Leonard Patrick Kavanaugh announce his peaceful passing on August 28, 2021, just four short months after the passing of their cherished Mother, and his beloved wife, Kathryn “Lynne”.

Loving, devoted and cherished Father of Bryan and Kate (Monforton), Kelly and Kevin and Dorothy (Rabideau). “Loved, worshipped, admired and adored” Grandfather of Avery Lynne, Megan Elizabeth, Lukan Patrick, Koen Macy and Raemyn Simone.

Len is survived by his brothers, Don and Ken, sisters-in-law Mary Catherine, Patti Ann, Joan, Pat and Judy and brothers-in-law, Bob, Tim and Gary.

Len was also a loving uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.

Len and Lynne enjoyed many happy years of marriage before Lynne’s passing in April. Those who knew them, knew their family was their greatest joy and they cherished the time spent together and the memories made with their children and grandchildren whom they adored. Their children and grandchildren mutually adored them.

Len devoted his life to his family and his long career as a labour lawyer in his community. He was a dedicated and passionate advocate for his clients and defended their interests fiercely and competently. It was his absolute pleasure to serve his clients and community on a daily basis and his passion for the law never ceased. He loved a good legal debate and took great pride in the law firm he had established and the colleagues with whom he worked.

Len was a loving gentleman and a man of deep principle, intellect and integrity. He left an indelible mark on his family and all who knew him. His endless jokes, stories, sayings and expressions, will forever echo in our minds along with the sound of his bellowing laugh and will be repeated throughout our lives in his honour. We were proud to be his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and colleagues alike. While we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are comforted knowing he is once again with our Mother, his ever true love, whom he simply could not live without.

Many thanks to Dr. Sabeena Misra, Dr. Fayez Quereshy, Dr. Tarek Elfiki, Dr, Khalid Hirmiz, Dr. Frank Demarco, the nursing staff & personnel at Windsor Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, LHIN, ParaMed, Bayshore and Hospice.
