Obituary of Annie Jane Markett

MARKETT, Annie Nee Soce November 9th,1969- August 23rd, 2021 Passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23rd, 2021 at the age of 51 with her family by her side. She was diagnosed with a rare cholangiocarcinoma in August 2019. She met her husband and best friend Greg in 1993 and they wed on December 7th, 1996. They had three children together, Ryan, Loren, and Aryn. She read widely and loved holidays and all the decorations that came with them. Christmas shopping started right after Halloween. Greg and Annie regularly vacationed with their children and friends. Trips to Mexico brought Annie, Greg and their children many happy times in the sunshine with their friends over dinner and poolside. She leaves behind her husband, Greg and her children, Ryan, Loren, and Aryn, who loved her fiercely, even when she made them crazy with her no-nonsense attitude and dry wit. She as well leaves behind her parents Drago and Marija Soce, and her sisters Kathy and Lucy Soce. Her laugh, wit and love of a good joke will be terribly missed by extended family and friends. Annie was helped on this journey by an amazing group of friends, and as a family we would like to thank them for their generosity and love. We must also thank the extended team at Erie Shores Hospice. Visiting at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East, 519-253-7234, on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:30am. Cremation to follow. Masks must be worn at all times while in the funeral home. Reservations are required to attend Funeral mass. Reservations are NOT required to attend Visitation.
