Obituary of Christella Rizok

Rizok, Christella

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Cape Breton girl Christella on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 67. Survived by her beloved husband and companion Frank Rumiel, loving mother to Tiffany and treasured E-ma to Shameus. She was also loved dearly by Steven and Klaus. Dearest sister to Brian, George (Wendy), Joe (Janet), John and Starla (Dan). Sister-in-Law of Sergio and Walter (Marion).

Predeceased by her parents Mary (2003) and Joseph (1978), and her nephew David (2017), as well as Angelo (1995) and Liliana Rumiel (2020). Chris will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and family from back home. Special niece of Uncle Joe and Aunt Alice. She will be especially missed by Micheal O’Connor, and Michael and Max Plantus. Chris was a true friend to many and lost her fair share of them along the way including her longtime friend Mike Plantus (2006).

Christella worked in the Print Shop at St. Clair College, Customer Service at the Beer Store and was a waitress at the Back Road Café. She loved life and enjoyed music and dancing anywhere she could. She was a big Johnny Reid fan and even got a kiss from him at one of his many visits to Windsor’s Caesar stage. Chris made everyone feel welcome in her home and all the kids would call her mom. She would be the first person to step up if someone needed anything.

Special thanks to Chuck and Melissa, Shannon, Max, Garry, Scott and Shannon, Karen and Tiffany, Arlene, Linda and Debbie.

In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Windsor Essex County would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Please keep in mind that the staff at Windsor Chapel are doing the best that they can to accommodate as many people as they can for the viewings and to provide you with the best care possible while you are grieving. Be kind to these folks and remember Chris would want you to be patient.
