Our condolences to Peggy & Gerry’s family.
Gerry was a good friend even though lately we didn’t see each other on a regular basis.
But when we did, it was like we’d just picked up from where we last left off. Gerry was that kind of a person – you felt comfortable with him & always enjoyed his company.
Attached are 2 photos of some of our get-togethers with Gerry & Peggy:

We were pleased that Gerry had Peggy’s support & companionship over the recent years.
I first met Gerry as a Ford colleague, but soon came to know him as a friend & eventually as a frequent golf partner. Any golf outing with Gerry was always fun, but one is especially memorable.
This goes back a while – Carol & I were visiting Gerry & his wife Carol in Florida.
Gerry & I went golfing with 2 of his Florida golf buddies. At one of the tees, I was warned:
“Whatever you do, do not attempt to retrieve your ball if it hooks into the canal.”
Well, three of us managed to find the fairway, but Gerry hooked & ended up on the edge of the canal, but in the water. Not too far away on a ridge, we could see 2 or 3 gators lying in the sun.
Gerry’s pals said “Wherever you see 2 or 3 gators, watch out, ‘cause Momma & Poppa are close by!”
His 2 pals took off to hit their approach shots thinking we were right behind. But of course, Gerry was determined to play it as it lay & avoid a penalty stroke.
So, down we went to the canal’s edge. As Gerry tip toed into the water & set up to hit his submerged ball, I was standing guard with a 7 iron. Now, most of us, including me realize a golf club isn’t much of a weapon against a full-grown alligator.
But Gerry was undeterred. While I frantically scanned 360 degrees for gators, he calmly went through his pre-swing routine & then hit a beautiful golf shot onto the fairway.
And typically, didn’t think anything of it when questioned at the end of the round – by me, his 2 golf buddies and of course the 2 Carols!
Thanks for all the wonderful memories, Gerry. May they help Peggy and your family during this difficult time.
In sympathy,
Grant & Carol Foster
