Though i did not know him. I used to see him in the halls at school at all the time he seemed like the kind of guy you would want to be friends with. Always smiling, friendly, and hardworking. If i could see this beaming from him on the outside i know he had a great impact on those around him for the better. He will remain an inspiration

My deepest condolences to the Chinnery family in this truly difficult time. I taught Kyle at TVA and he was an absolute joy to teach. He sauntered into class each day with a pep in his step and a smile on his face, never failing to say Bonjour. His leadership skills and inclusion of all his peers were admirable qualities as was his unending optimism and charisma. He will be greatly missed; one of the best!
Au revoir et à la prochaine Kyle,

Danielle, Keith and Calder, I remember many wonderful and interesting conversations Kyle and I used to have during youth group meetings and Stations of the Cross practices. His passion for justice and truth was amazing for such a young person. I knew with his intelligence, confidence, kindness and sense of humour, that he would be out there doing great things. His determination to do good and the right thing, no matter what, as well as help others is certainly a legacy that will live on and felt forever. Sending you prayers for strength, courage, and peace as you ponder on his life and keep his memories alive, especially during these difficult days.

Mr. and Mrs. Chinnery and Calder, I am so very sorry for your loss and sending you my deepest sympathies. I was one of Kyle's seventh-grade teachers at St. Pius. I will always remember the passion he had for things that were important and dear to him. He brought a lively energy to many class discussions, especially topics that involved justice. He was a force to be reckoned with during class games and games/competitions at recess with his friends. Kyle was always willing to help others and wore his heart on his sleeve. I ran into him over the years at hockey rinks and the Tecumseh soccer fields, and he exuded the passion he had for each of those sports, each game he reffed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May Kyle's memories and legacy as a passionate, kind, and intelligent young man live on always. Rest in Peace, dear Kyle. Love, Mrs. Gaffan

I have known Kyle Chinnery for a very long time. I went to school with Kyle from age 4-14, while also playing on many hockey teams together. Kyle was a big part of my childhood experience, I saw him at least once a day for 10 years at school, and sometimes twice in a day if I would see him at hockey too. Kyle had the power to brighten up any room he walked into with his wide, welcoming smile. I can still remember greeting him every morning outside of our grade 6/7 split class at the parking lot end of St. Gregory’s Catholic Elementary School. One of Kyle’s most admirable traits was his never ending sense of pride. You could never tell if Kyle was down about something, or if Kyle was bothered by something, he constantly carried himself tall, shoulders back, bright smile, and ready to take on whatever that day would offer. I’ve always known Kyle as a very positive person. The pride that Kyle carried in himself was unmatched by anyone. Back when we were kids, and I’m talking grade 3 or grade 4 age right now, it wasn’t the coolest thing to be the student who was respectful to, and overly helpful to the teachers. But that sort of thing never mattered to Kyle. He was proud to be the kid who was respected by all of the school staff, somebody that could be counted on. I also witnessed, for several years, that same respect between Kyle and the hockey coaches that we played for. I still have some vivid memories of Kyle helping out our grade school music teacher Mr. Villella. The rock band events run by Mr. Villella did not always run smoothly, but Kyle was always there to help. I can remember him running back and forth across the band equipment, trusted by everyone that if Kyle was attending to something then it would be perfect come show time. Kyle will always hold a place in my heart as the person who never failed to amaze me, and who’s pride I will always try to emulate. My deepest condolences go out to Kyle’s family and friends in this devastating time. Rest in peace Kyle.

So very sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Kyle was a great kid and so glad my son had the chance to know him Spencer had many play dates when they were young and I always looked forward to hearing all that Kyle taught Spencer during their visits.. He was a polite, genuine ,heart of gold kind of kid. We had the chance to be on the same hockey team for years and had the honor of having him ref our soccer games. ( I always hoped he was our ref) there were few good ones and he was the fairest of all. Danielle and Keith you did an amazing job raising such a loved and cared about son. This was so evident when look at the people, comments written on his framed picture next to the signing book, the video and the beautiful picture boards at his service. Know that his legacy will live forever in those people who knew him. Time will heal your broken hearts. Our deepest sympathy..

Knowing Kyle from french class, music class and band, I can definitely say he was always someone who came into the room with a smile on his face. He would come into class each morning and say “morning”. Never missed a day. He was a great trumpet player. I enjoyed activities we did together in music class such as our small group performance of “You Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story. I also remember how well he was able to speak French. So well that after our presentations we would be nervous to get a question from him because he spoke better than all of us. One day in French class, there was a fire truck outside the window and he got so exited. I’m proud that he was passionate about his dreams and wanted to peruse them deeply. He was the light in every room, always trying to make people laugh. He will be missed. My deepest condolences goes out to the Chinnery family.

I went to school with Kyle for 6 years. Immediately when I met him in grade 7, I knew he was going to be one of those special people that always put a smile on your face. He was always such a kind and genuine person. Every time I was ever with Kyle, he was always so caring. He had such a good heart. One of my favourite memories of Kyle is definitely whenever the boys hockey team had a game. His excitement to play and the energy he brought to school with him those days was absolutely awesome. He made sure that the whole school knew it was game day. Those days were always the best. Definitely deserved that most dedicated award he received! Kyle was an incredible person that will be deeply missed. My deepest condolences to the entire Chinnery family.

Kyle was someone you could rely on. Whether it was standing up for our hockey team or doing a simple task that needed to get done. Even when I played against him, he was a very competitive player which really showed his heart for the game. Back when I used to ref with him, he always made the game fair and tried to follow the rule book as closely as possible. He showed great leadership skills on and off the ice, and his professionalism was unmatched. From someone who has known him for quite a long time, we certainly lost a great one. My condolences go out to his family.

I enjoyed all the chats I had with him and I appreciated his friendship with Tia. It was a pleasure to watch him play in the school band and watch him ref hockey and soccer games. He was so passionate about so many things. I hope that as you are surrounded by family, friends, and the community, that you know how loved your family is and that you find strength in the relationships around you and in a God who loves you immensely. I have known him since grade school and have always had a good time playing and refereeing soccer and hockey with him. It would always make me smile when he would let me know if I was on time or not when we had the same shift. I'll never forget the time when we had a shift at Lanspeary Park and it was bitterly cold out, I had mentioned to him that our hands were going to freeze off and he just smiled and showed me his boot and glove warmers and offered me a set as well, he was always prepared and willing to share whatever he had. Please accept our deepest sympathy on the unexpected loss of our beloved Kyle. We want you to know that we share in your grief. We knew Kyle as our student in JK, Sk and Grade One respectively. Kyle left an imprint on the people he came in contact with in his life. We remember mom fondly referring to Kyle as her, "Little Peanutman". He was fortunate to be surrounded by such a loving family who embraced his uniqueness with open arms. Younger sister Calder always kept a loving eye out for her older brother Kyle. It is obvious that Kyle served his community well and continues to save lives by being an organ donor. We are so proud to call Kyle a Sabre. He fought diligently to save our beloved St. Gregory Catholic Elementary School from closure in 2014. If Kyle thought he was right, he was a strong advocate for that position. Whether we agreed or disagreed with Kyle, we respected his conviction. Kyle will be missed greatly by all of us who knew him but never forgotten. Once he put his mind to something, he was a force to be reckoned with. Kyle touched so many lives while he was here and we will forever be grateful to have met him. He was such a big influence on many of the paramedic students and he will be greatly missed. Rest easy big guy.

I am sending my deepest condolences. I knew Kyle well as we were in band together at school. He was always the most lovable guy in the room and always knew how to make people laugh.
He was deeply passionate about being a hockey player/referee, and would tell me how he memorized the entire hockey rulebook. I never knew how to play hockey, and thanks to him, he taught me a thing or two.
Our best time together however, was the Montreal/Ottawa trip. We sat next to each other on the bus and our friendship blossomed from that point onwards. I’ll forever cherish the moments we got to share. My thoughts and prayers go towards Keith, Danielle and Calder.

Keith, Danielle and Calder, My sincerest condolences.
Kyle was always the light of the room. Always had a smile on his face and had an exciting story to share with me. I had the privilege of meeting Kyle in the Tecumseh Vista high school band. We bonded and as it turned out, we had met many times before as he was reffing my hockey and soccer games. Before and after these games, we would always have a good conversation.
I've always admired his work ethic. Easily one of the most detail oriented referees in the game, hardest working guys, and always had the best aspirations. Kyle will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Keith, Danielle and Calder, we are saddened by the loss of such a young and special son and brother.
As a hockey coach, whenever i'd see Kyle enter the rink with his big smile on his face, i knew i had to warn a few certain players on my team to take it easy, this kid wasn't going to miss a thing. One of the best young referees i've seen in minor hockey and Kyle did it with pure joy. You could see it on his face when he was on the ice. After every game, even if i gave him a hard time, he'd pass our dressing room with a "great game coach"

I will be forever blessed to have played hockey with Kyle, he taught me what it takes to want to win. The heart and drive he had for the game was consistently pushing me to do better.
Something that I’ll forever remember, was the way Kyle stood up for any teammate, wether it cost him a penalty or not. If me or someone got pushed around by the opponent Kyle was the first one there to fend them off for you. He had your back in any type of situation.
Kyle was a first class person on and off the ice and I’m forever happy he was part of my life. My condolences go out to his family.

We remember Kyle best from Muffin of the Month during our St. Gregory's days. Kyle was a fun baker to have in our kitchen, but he also took the task seriously... It was obvious to all that he was energized by the prospect of helping others. Even then, he lead in matters of kindness, heart and character... What a good soul, and what a sad loss. We will continue to be humbled and inspired by his wholehearted way of living. Our heart, our prayers, go out to your family.

I taught Kyle when he was in the seventh grade at St.Pius (before going on maternity leave). He was one of the hardest working students. Always striving to give his best and be the best. He had a great sense of humour and was very, very devoted to his former school St. Gregory. I still remember him asking me if we could do a cheer during gym class for the former St. Gregory Sabres. As a former sabre myself, I appreciated his passion. He made me laugh and smile and was always willing to lend a hand. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be unable to attend the visitation, but please know that your family will be in my constant thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Kyle.

What a deep sense of loss and sadness we are feeling for your family. Watching Kyle grow up around the arena from just a little tyke to the 10 year old vocal team leader making a speech in the dressing-room before a big game, then on to the young referee studying the rule book and looking for ways to enforce rules he stumbled across...I have both tears and laughter for him and you. Kyle certainly left an impression on those he encountered and accomplished much in his short time here. Please accept our condolences and know we are thinking of you and are here to support in any way possible.
