Our deepest condolences to the entire Renaud family. Your Mom was a wonderful, kind and endearing woman. She was a hard worker and had a great sense of humour! I will never forget her canning chilli sauce and the wonderful smell in the house. What a great example she was for her children. She will definitely be praying for her family from Heaven. Our hearts and prayers go out to you all.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your mom. My heart is filled with so many wonderful memories of all of the gatherings that were shared with all of you as Fr. Ray and I were studying for the priesthood. Sorry I cannot be with you to celebrate her funeral mass. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May she rest in peace as she joins your dad, your brothers and her grandchildren in heaven.

Warm memories of Agnes come to mind from my time as Chaplain at Heron Terrace. Agnes could be seen sitting quietly in the comfortable chair in her room. She also enjoyed the regular visits from family with whom she looked forward to playing cards. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you adjust to the empty space that this quiet lady has left in your lives. God bless.

The first time I met Mrs. Renaud was when Colleen & I went out for the evening. She introduced me to her Mom and the second thing Mrs. Renaud said to me was – “you’re going to sleep here tonight?” I thought she was asking me a question – I said no, I would just go home. Wrong! LOL She said – No you Are going to sleep here, you’re not going to drive through Detroit at night! I said okay – and that was the beginning of many happy times for me, spent at the Renaud house.
The next morning when I woke up, I heard a man yelling at Colleen’s little brother Chris. I realized it was her Dad who I hadn’t met yet. He kept yelling because Chris was not doing as he was told. I admit, I was kind of afraid to get up and go into the family room as I was picturing a Big Brute of a man. When I finally did, I saw Mr. Renaud, a cute little man sitting on the couch folding laundry! We all had a good laugh at me over that story!
All those memories, I hold dear. From everyone coming home on Sundays, visiting in the living room, to the great Sunday dinners where everyone at the table was talking at the same time! To playing games after dinner and enjoying a delicious piece of pie, Mrs. Renaud was famous for. I even got to spend a Thanksgiving Day at their house. All those memories, I hold dear.
I remember waking up on Saturday mornings to a wonderful breakfast. Mr. & Mrs. Had already gotten up, dressed and come home from doing the weekly shopping before we even woke up! Then after serving our breakfast, Mrs. Renaud would sit with us at the table, enjoying listening to our stories of the night before. She was always interested in where we went and who we met.
In remembering back to all those times, whether a casual picnic or formal family event, she always made me feel welcome, as if I were a part of Her family. That continues to mean the world to me.
She always welcomed and cared for anyone who came into her home. It takes a cheerful heart to touch so many peoples lives in such positive ways.
Now she’s united with her sweetheart once more and for eternity. God bless them both. I feel blessed for having known them.
Love,
Debbie
