Dear Irene and family, Please accept my condolences on behalf of Our Lady of Guadalupe Home. Bob was so faithful in providing for our mothers and babies in their time of need! We are so grateful for the years of support by Bob and the Knights of Columbus, Council 1453. Please thank the Knights for us! In the fall Bob would call me up to tell me that the Knights had chosen our Home to receive proceeds from their annual Christmas Dinner, and to invite me and a guest to attend. His phone calls always gave me joy in knowing that the Knights were supporting our mothers and babies - plus his humorous banter always made me laugh! The dinners were always joyful affairs with delicious food and friendly conversation. I am sure that Bob will hear Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful servant. I was a frightened mother and baby with little support, and you provided the means to support us in our time of need. Come and share my Heavenly Banquet!" I will have a Mass said for the repose of his soul and send you a card to let you know the date of the Mass. I am praying for him, for you, Irene and for your entire family in this time of sorrow. I am sad to hear of Bob's death. We were friends at Assumption High school in the 50 & 60 time frame. We worked at the newspaper together and have a lot to remember and celebrate. AT the sock hops he would separate my wife and I if we were too close. He really tried to bug us!!!!! Aunt Irene, Mike, Dave, Maureen and Jo-Annne, I am so sorry for your loss. While it has been a while since I saw him, I was telling Mike last night about pizza nights, cards and family Christmases. There are many great memories. Given the current situation, we won’t be there physically, but know that we are there in spirit. Love and hugs to all. Sue.
