To the entire Strano, Surace and extended families. I am so sad to hear this news that her earthly life has come to rest. But I believe her spirit has soared to higher places that she so devoutly believed in her entire life. She will forever leave a special place in my heart, and was my other Tecumseh mother growing up. I still can smell the aromas of her pasta sauce, cannoli and cream puff queen pâtissier leaving me personal containers of her Kaluha cakes to take home. She loved her families and I am honoured to have know such a beautiful lady. Rest in the enlightened eternal peace sweet Rosa. You are forever loved, cherished, and fondly remembered.

We were deeply sadden to hear of the passing of our dear friend and comare. Our family friendship goes back decades, all the way to the fifties. We had the pleasure of being at Rosa and Mario’s wedding....and during the coming years the family friendships just grew stronger as we shared a common thread as immigrants in a new land. Rosa was a warm and caring person who was genuinely interested in our well being. As a young boy, not a Christmas passed that she didn’t pass along $5 dollars and whispered...don’t tell your parents you go buy something you like. We know she loved to cook and bake and whenever she visited she always brought over what soon became my favorite, Italian cream puffs. Since we cannot be there in person we wanted to pass along our deepest condolences to the Strano family during this most difficult. The photo below are the two nonnas (circa 2007)sharing a moment at my daughter’s wedding.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Uncle Mario, Tina, Sara, Rosemarie and their families. Aunt Rose was truly a special woman and was so proud of each of you for your individual accomplishments embraced by a sense of family warmth. May sharing happy memories with family and friends help comfort you as you grieve this tremendous loss. The pride Aunt Rose took in cooking and baking was incredible, welcoming us with home made tagliatelle, fresh tomato sauce and, of course, her unforgettable cream puffs! She has earned her wings; may God welcome her and bless her. May she rest peacefully and eternally. -Melina
