Dino and family, There are few words to express our sadness for you. Your dad was a colleague and friend to our dad Leo. Recently, Leo learned of your dad's new home and was desperate to visit him; unfortunately, Coronavirus protocols prevented him from visiting. My dad spoke so fondly about your dad, their many trips to Toronto to barber conventions, dinner out and their evening escapades. Your dad was a special gent to my dad and if Leo were here he would have been there to visit. Here's hoping they finally get to have their espresso. God bless, Luci Santamaria

Our deepest condolences to you dear Dino, Tina and Erickson. So sorry for your loss. Since 1956 when Alfredo opened the barbershop at Gladstone and Ottawa Street with his first partner Joe and then Armando, the friendships he established with customers have lasted beyond his retirement date of July 2006. The Barbershop Family he created to this day is still talked about with his friends and customers. Alfredo you were one of my best friends for over 50 years. Thank you Alfredo. Rest in Peace. My deepest condolences to you and your family Dino. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve walking to your Dad's shop with my Nonno Andrea to get my hair cut. I will always remember Fredo a man of style and grace who greeted everyone with a smile and made them feel so welcome.

So very sorry to hear of Alfredo"s passing. Our condolences to Dino and family. Alfredo was the most respectful gentleman I've ever known. We played many rounds of golf together, every Wednesday morning, and he was always complimentary, encouraging, and a joy to play with. I looked forward to Wednesday mornings, to his company and his espresso and brandy. Rest in peace my dear friend! Ettore and Claudia Tatti

My condolences to Dino and family , I had a lot of fond memories of your dad, watching the world cup at his shop with Armando , laughing at Armando getting excited and angry while Alfredo tried to calm him down, they were a great duo and added to the character of the Ottawa street business family, always had a smile on his face and a good word to say. Loved getting my hair cut and listening to the kibbitz between the two. Sorely missed but not forgotten. Arnie Blaine / Karen's Shoes

He was my barber for over 30 years. It was just a stones throw from the school (Monarch Secondary)to his shop on Ottawa St. Loved to talk to him about music when I went to get my hair cut. Lots of memories especially the birthday cake on his 70 that I brought him. My sympathy to Dino and family for your loss.

To Alfredo's family, Having grown up in the Ottawa street neighborhood, your Dad's barber shop was a familiar fixture. When my son needed his first haircut about 40 years ago, I automatically took him to your Dad. You could've heard that child scream from one end of Ottawa street to the next! Your Dad had the patience of a saint and we returned again and again. Please know how sorry we are to learn of his passing . The Bear family

My condolences to the family. I have a lot of wonderful memories of Alfredo back when I was young, getting a haircut with my Dad , and Rick. It was a big day going to Ottawa street on a Saturday , and celebrating when we didn't need the red booster chair anymore. Then, as an adult, I would bring my own kids, going through the inaugural haircuts, and special rituals he would always offer. He was a wonderful man, always smiling , and welcoming when I would run into him at the club, or the golf course. Our sympathies, John and Lori Tonial

Dear Dino and family: I had the pleasure of getting my haircut for probably 40 years on Ottawa Street from your father. He and Armando were the two best barbers in the city and it was always a great visit whenever you got your haircut because there was a great deal of discussion and banter between your Dad and Armando and whoever was in the chair with each of them. Lots of humour and discussion about golf took place. When you left the shop you felt good and looked good with a new haircut. I surely miss that camaraderie and fun as things have changed drastically and the one on one seemingly does not exist anymore. Your dad was a gentleman and very proud of you Dino. Many great memories of family gatherings are the core of Italian dinners. I know Alfredo deserves a rest now and he can join your Mom to dance once again in heaven. Sincerest condolences. Very sad to hear of the passing of Alfredo. My condolences to his family. Alfredo was my barber for very many years and we developed a deeper friendship once he retired. I last saw him at La Dolce Vita on Erie St earlier this year. Alfredo was a total class act. He taught me many things about what's really important in life. I will never forget. Alan Defoe
