Obituary of Allan Walter Kidd

KIDD, Allan Passed away on September 15, 2019 at the age of 89, with his wife of 65 years Madelon at his side. A graduate of Queen’s University and the school of hard knocks, Allan was the owner of IXL Cleaners for 50 years, and a teacher at WM. Hands for 13 years. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served on H.M.S Snipe. Allan had a positive influence on many students, employees, customers and family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit and contagious smile. He was respected for his work ethic, and treated all firmly and fairly while always trying to see life as fun. Allan was a man who took the time to hear everyone, and was loved by all who knew him. He would not want us to weep for him-his was a life well lived. Predeceased by brothers James and Clifford, Allan is survived by wife Madelon, sons Allan (Carolyn) and Richard, grandchildren Robert, Thomas and Madelon, brother Richard (Ellen) and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family in Scotland, Canada and the U.S.A. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Wednesday September 18, 2019 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Family and friends will be received on Thursday September 19, 2019 for a visitation at 9:30am at Banwell Community Church (2400 Banwell Rd.) with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation, Hospice of Windsor or Banwell Community Church.
