Obituary of Dorene Ann Bellaire

<br/>Passed away peacefully on her favourite day of the year, December 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at 71 years of age. Loving wife and best friend of Ron, having shared 49 years of beautiful marriage together. Proud and dedicated mother of Jennifer and Kelly (Steve Machan). Cherished Nana of Austin, late Alyssa, Jaiden, Petyen, Jordan, Zackary and Tavis. Now reunited with her Heavenly family, Clyde and Helen Riehl, siblings Laurie and Alan Riehl and granddaughter Alyssa Jenna-Ann. She will also be forever missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who were all family to her. Dorene’s pride and joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She was a good friend to many, generous and kind. Honorary Mother and Nana to so many. Dorene graduated from Shrine High School in Royal Oak Michigan-Class of 1967. She was a dedicated kitchen staff worker at Beaumont Hospital, and a telephone operator at Michigan Bell, and also worked for many years as property manager at Scarsdale Apartments and Forest Park Homes. Dorene got to join her Heavenly family on her favourite holiday. Anyone who came to her house at Christmas was in awe of all her beautiful decorations and would get to enjoy many of her holiday baking treats that she loved to create with her grandkids.<br/>Dorene was responsible for the introduction of the private members bill for additional newborn screening, which led to all babies in Ontario being screened at birth for MCAD and several other disorders. As of April 2006, many babies lives were saved. Because of her efforts, her granddaughter Alyssa’s short life had such a grand purpose. <br/>A private family service will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (BANWELL CHAPEL). A public ceremony will be held at a later date.
