After the war, my father transferred to Windsor because Mom's sister Amy, her husband Jack and her nieces and nephews, whom she loved, were there. Ken was six years older than I and five years older than my sister Joll, but he was kind enough to play with us and his own brother Jimmy and create the excitement and fun and happiness of our many many days at the McKernan house, first at Airport Villa, and then on Malden Road. Joll and I loved Ken and Jim and our older, larger than life cousins, who were admired role models of ours and showed us who we wanted to be. We never had to doubt the steady love we felt there, from Amy and Jack, our cousins, and our own parents. I can still hear your Mother's ready laugh, and see your father's smile Ken. I hope you are enjoying again the warmth of your loving family.
