Obituary of Kurt Damphousse

On the evening of Friday April 19th, Kurt Damphousse reeled in his line and departed for his next great adventure. Loving husband of 39 years to Wendy, dedicated father to Chelsey and Lauren, and doting dog gramps to Zoey, Floyd, and Penny. Kurt will be dearly missed by his brothers John (Jane) Breen and Ray (Mariann) Damphousse, his brothers-in-law Kirk (Cindy), Randy (Tracy), and Scott (Cindy) Walstedt. As an uncle to Nathan (Kim) and Shawn (Sara), Jonathan (Melissa) and Angie (Geoff), and Eric, Alex and Mark, and as a cherished son-in-law to the late Warren and Catherine Walstedt he will be always remembered. During his time as a mechanical engineer of 30+ years, Kurt was a valued co-worker and friend to countless individuals at the FCA Windsor Assembly Plant and FCA Tech Centre in Auburn Hills. The family would like to extend their appreciation for all of the outstanding care provided by Drs. Freeman, Rukavina, Stresman, Scholl, Elalem, Ghafoor and his staff (Caroline and Mandy), as well as the nurses on the Met oncology floor (especially Casey and Kim). Additional thanks to Jessica Bloomfield and Lisa Samson. With your help, Kurt was able to defy all odds. Kurt’s quirky sense of humour and ability to make others smile was appreciated by all that crossed his path. His unparalleled honesty, integrity, and endless curiosity will remain an inspiration to us all. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234.
