Obituary of Jackson Oglan

OGLAN, JacksonIt is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the loss of our Jackson on May 15, 2018 at the age of 19. He lived his life with adventure and intellect and will be missed by so, so many. Jackson is survived by his parents Kathy and Ron, his brothers Isaac and Roman, his Nonna Lillian Valvasori as well as aunts and uncles Jeannie, Dina, Ray, Jim, Erika, Wendy, David, Deanna, Derek, John, Teresa and Sandra. He will be missed by his cousins: Jason, Kathryn, Elena, Anthony, Dorota, Devon, Paige, Taylor, Kelsey, Haley, Milo, Sevi, Giuliano, Ronnie, Giordano, and Jennifer. Jackson was blessed to be supported and loved by his friend and "brother" Mahdy, as well as Max, Barento, Vincent, Martin, Austin, Stew and so many others. Jackson joins his Nonno Otto Valvasori (2015) and his grandmother Johanna Oglan (2017).Jackson was a graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School and Holy Names High School class of 2017 and had just finished his first year at the University of Toronto. He was an avid photographer, enjoyed baseball, basketball, and curling, and had a genuine passion for music and the outdoors.In keeping with the person he was Jackson"s organs have been donated in hopes that others can live healthily and happily.Our entire family would like to thank the first responders who acted quickly with care and compassion. To the emergency room team, Doctors Wasserman, Briskin and Malus, our ICU nurses Ivana, Andrea, Jess, Giovanna, Lauren, Jackie, and Tom who offered immeasurable support in the most difficult time of our lives - thank you. They treated Jackson and our entire family with professionalism, immense kindness, and utmost respect in our time of need.Jackson fought like a warrior to battle his depression and we ask that his memory be honoured and that each of you help to create awareness about mental health, reach out to others and be kind. In a world where there is so much darkness we must be the light for those we love. Never stop talking, never stop listening and never forget the light that was our Jackson.Friends will be received for memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service celebrating Jackson's life will take place on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11 am in the Chapel. As an expression of sympathy and in honour of Jackson memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (Windsor Branch).
