Obituary of Melvin Orr

ORR, Melvin81 years young of Tecumseh, Ontario, died September 30, 2017 while in Ear Falls, Ontario on his yearly fishing and hunting trip. Beloved husband of 58 years to Jeanne (nee Cecile). Son of the late Clayton and Rose (Lafond) Orr. Predeceased by his sister Bernice Massender (late Everitt) and brother-in-law Gerard Cecile (Sharron). Cherished father of Dennis (Pam), Catherine DiLuca (Carlo), and Terry (Louise). Grandfather of David Bacon, Jacqueline Erickson, Jennie Bacon, Dillon, Wesley, Erin and Melanie Orr, Colton and Danielle Orr. Proud "grand pepe' to Kate, Luc, Les, June and a fifth arriving in April. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and numerous people he encountered in his memorable life. He gave many years of service to his community. Melvin was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4375, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 261, and a former member of Tecumseh Fire Dept. In 1954, Melvin took over his father's business after Clayton's passing, thus starting Melvin Orr Trucking. No one who met Melvin forgot his infectious sense of humour, his non work activities, his generosity and compassion to others. As per Melvin"s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation for Melvin will be held on Friday October 6, 2017 at St. Anne Church (12233 Tecumseh Road East) from 9:30am until time of his funeral mass at 11:30 am.
