Obituary of Dorothy Helen Malanfant

MALANFANT, Dorothy Helen Passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 94. Loving wife of the late Norman Malanfant (2010). Loving mother of Tom and wife Debbie, and Sid and wife Debbie of Tennessee. Dearest daughter of the late Helen Morris. Loving grandmother of Melanie (Randy), Tim (Sarah), Andrew (Laura), Nicole, Scott (Angie), Tony (Annette), Jen (Calvin), Jenny (Ean), Megan (Christy), Lauren Katie (Scott), 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. Dorothy worked for many years as an Executive Secretary at Hiram Walker. She was President of the Altar Guild at St. Stephens Anglican Church and an active member of the Canadian Hearing Society. Mom was an avid reader and never met a crossword puzzle she couldnt solve. She took pleasure in the simple things of life and always had a smile for everyone she met. She lost her hearing early in life and faced the many challenges as a hearing impaired person with humour, courage and patience. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Monday February 20, 2017 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. On Tuesday February 21, 2017 family and friends are invited to meet at the Funeral Home for visitation from 9:30 am until 10:15 am then to St. James Anglican Church (4276 Roseland Dr. E.) for service at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Stephens Anglican Church Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County or the Canadian Hearing Society would be appreciated by the family.
