Obituary of Tim Berthiaume

Berthiaume, Timothy (November 11, 1953 – September 4, 2020) It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Tim has moved on from this adventure and has started a new one in the afterlife. Never a man to complain, he always viewed obstacles as opportunities and as such, taught so many of us to see the silver lining in all things. As the youngest of ten children, Tim was often spoiled by his sisters & in their eyes he could do no wrong. Tim joined Windsor Fire in 1978, following in his Father’s footsteps and reaching the rank of Deputy Chief. After leaving his son Michael to take over his legacy in Windsor, Tim went on to serve as Deputy Chief in Calgary and finally Fire Chief in Leamington. Tim met Jane in 1999 and it didn’t take long for the two of them to hit it off. The two of them found life partners in each other and married on the beach in Florida. Together they blended their families and created something truly special. They loved taking road trips together & tinkering at the “farm”. Tim was truly happy on his tractor, pushing dirt & being active. In retirement, he took up woodworking and together he and Jane took on restoring an old farm house, building furniture & making bird houses. Loving husband of 16 years to Jane. Proud father to Natalie (Dustin), Michael (Jenica), Phillip & Nathan (Ashley). Cherished Pops to Gracen, Elliott, Greya & Braelyn. He is predeceased by his parents Wilfred & Gertrude. Baby brother to Patricia (predeceased George), Jackie (Joe), Joanne (Dennis), Mary Lou, Mike (Marilyn), predeceased by Patrick (Mary Lou), Jack, Mary Anne (George) & Joe (predeceased by Mary Lynn). He was happiest with his family by his side, drinking a glass of wine and enjoying a beautiful sunset. He could always be counted on to say “life is good” in those moments. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice Residential Home – Erie Shores. A private family service was held & a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E 519-253-7234. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared at www.windsorchapel.com
