Obituary of John Allan Muir

MUIR, John Allan It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, and Papa on July 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 75 years old. Loving husband of his high school sweetheart Carol (nee Preston) with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage. Beloved father and "World's Best Dad" to Allan Muir and wife Teresa of Frisco, Texas and Heather Muir of Toronto, Ontario. Cherished "Papa" to John and Luc Muir. Dear brother of Lance Muir and wife Beverley of Mississauga, Ontario, Sheila Peer of Markham, Ontario, and Les Muir of Windsor. Brother-in-law to Sue Preston of Windsor and Beth and husband Marc Ross of Ajax, Ontario. He will be missed by his sweet mother-in-law Frances Preston-Rilling. Adored Uncle John to many nieces and nephews. John was a retired and highly respected teacher and principal with the Greater Windsor Essex County District School Board. His greatest passion was his work in Olde Sandwich Town in Windsor"s West End. As requested by John, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, July 29th, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate and honour John"s life will take place on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at 12 noon in the Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, John would appreciate donations to the Brock " Tecumseh Monument c/o Mark Nazarewich, (268 Thompson Blvd. Windsor, Ontario N8S 2G4) which will be placed in Patterson Park in 2017.
