To Fraser and Glen and families. Susie and I are so sad to hear of Aunt Mildred's passing however, so glad to know she is now with her savior and lord and of course Ford. We loved her dearly and have so many sweet memories in Newfoundland and Florida with Mom and Dad. We are so privileged to visit with her in Windsor 2 years ago! She sang up a storm and knew all the words to the old hymns! It was awesome! And of course who could forget your wit and smile!!! Another saint has left this earth and she will be dearly missed. My mom (Beulah) has lost a very dear friend but really she lost her life long sister. Our love, hugs and blessings to all. David and Susie Vaters

The world has lost a wonderful amazing lady. We worked together for many years and it was always a pleasure we shared a love of beautiful fabrics and great workmanship. Mildred came with me to buy my first sewing machines and yes they still work!!!! She told me to keep singing because if I didn't use it I'd lose it so I'm still singing. My heartfelt sympathy to Fraser and Glenn and families. She will be missed. A life well lived indeed !

Remembering her with much love and appreciation. She showed so much love to me, as a young Christian, during the summer of 1967, when I fist became a Christian and attended Bethesda Church. I still remember the joy on her face the night I was baptized in water by Pastor Rideout. Another of God''s family "gone home".. My prayers are with the family. Reunion Day is coming! Let us continue to listen for the Trumpet Call, when there will be no more good-byes. With a thankful heart, Lily

Thoughts and prayers with all of you at this time. Although sadness comes in all its heaviness, still, there is joy in remembering the wonderful life she lived, the people she touched, the lives she enhanced, the sweet person she was. Take solace in those good memories, in the loving and caring times of the past. Mildred has her reward and has shed the cares and troubles of this world for the wonders of heaven

Fraser & Glenn: Jim informed me this morning and then I later got the message from the PAONL Superintendent that your Mom has passed away. What a wonderful age - AND WHAT A WONDERFUL LADY. Given all of the time I spent at your home when my parents were travelling (& sometimes not travelling but just hanging out there), your mom was like a second mom to me. Her ready smile and engaging conversation made her home feel real comfortable. Glenn, I am so glad you took Eva & me to visit her when we were last in Canada - 2014. It was awesome to reconnect at that time. As you may know, she was connected with our family for many years. She had helped my parents in the home before I came on the scene. There was a deep appreciation for her that I learned from my Mom & Dad. It was easy to transfer that to my own impression of her as I got to know her. She was a wonderful support to your Dad. And she thought you both were just something else - she was so very proud of you! She had a great capacity to love. Her love of your father, you both, and her many friends were only surpassed by her love of her Lord. In spite of your (& our) sadness, this day of being reunited is a day of great rejoicing! Eva & I wish we could be with you at this time. My thoughts have gone to you frequently since I have heard the news. We look forward to seeing you soon. Gary & Eva Hong Kong

We will always cherish the season the Ridiouts served with us at Glovertown. Mrs Ridiout raised the bar of excellence to great heights for the choir. The glow of encouragement on her face as she directed us, mixed with positive affirmation while correcting us, planted deep seated seeds of love and appreciation in our hearts for her forever. Indeed a woman among women who has impacted her community wherever she called home. It is at a time like this we look back at the hand of God on both Pastor & Mrs Ridiout. Certainly we can say He was there all the time because their compatibility of excellence had to be a match made in heaven. Blessings to the family today and thank you for sharing your parents with the faith community at large. We will prayerfully give thanks for all He has done in our lives thru them.

Mrs. Rideout was a wonderful woman. She lived a full and successful life. She touched many peoples lives along the way. Her faith was her strength through lifes trials. She is an example of how we should all live and grow old. I pray the family will be strong and know we grieve with them. Mrs. Rideout would want us to to focus on a better day when there will be no more suffering and no more pain. Thank you Mrs Rideout for all you have done during your life.

To Fraser, Glenn and family, just heard the news . . . thoughts and prayers are with you all today. How well I remember your mother and father, of course from a long time ago. We date everything by the cars - your parents' infamous black/red '68 Ford Custom. A real hot rod! I remember your father's Bethesda Chimes voice on VOCM; comforting and kind, reassuring. I also somehow remember going across "The Barrens" (Conception Bay area?) with him and EW in EW's (also infamous) Caddy. We came upon a road closure which meant going the long way around - your father happily mentioned this meant a longer ride in the car. Uncle Watson feigned bluster but I knew he was just as pleased because he was with Ford - these two really liked each other. David was there with me and we all seemed so content. Fraser, the last time I saw your mother was with you a few years ago. I thought how little she'd changed. Somehow the subject of 9-11 came up and she said how she'd turned the television off and went to prayer for the day . . . all without drawing attention to herself. Privately I was schooled: this is how the real work of the Lord is done. He raises people up and they're often women. Certainly your dear mother was on that list.

I remember your Mom's kind words and concern when my dad became bedridden for many years with Parkinson's disease and again a few years later when my mom suffered from Alzheimer's. She was a kind and gentle distinguished lady . May you feel comfort in your wonderful memories of her. God bless, Marilyn Pope

Both Pastor and Mrs Rideout were loved and respected by everyone here at Jubilee. They left an incredible mark on our Church and Community during their time of Pastoring in Botwood NL. . People today still talk about their kindness and their passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mrs Rideout was indeed a beautiful lady who encouraged everyone, with her words and her smile. Personally, many times she encouraged me as a young pastor. She was an inspiration to many who knew her. Today another one of God's Saints is promoted to glory.
