Obituary of Victor James Kozachuk
KOZACHUK, Victor James Passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016, at the age of 86 years. Re-united with his beloved wife Mary (nee Flundra) (1994). Loving and devoted Father to Larry and wife Donna, Leslie and wife Diane Kozachuk; all of London, ON., Leonard and wife Lore Kozachuk of Woodbridge, ON., and Sherri-Lynn and husband Dr. Jason Kurek of Shelby Township, MI. Cherished Grandpa to Madalena, Paul, Nicholas, Andrew, Alexander, Steven, Alayna, and Olivia. Dear companion to Ann Bennett. Predeceased by brother George Kozachuk. Victor worked behind the meat counter at the former N D Supermarket (Yorktown) for 40 years. Victor was a devoted and long-time member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, where he assisted in the capacity of Stari Brat, and was a member of the choir. He was also an active volunteer in his community, including Scouts Canada, past President of the Zolota Zhoda, and working in the kitchen at St. Vladimir Cultural Centre where he assisted in preparing delicious Ukrainian foods. Victor loved driving the open road, family camping trips, and enjoying a chadka or two with family and friends. He truly was a good man. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare for their compassionate care provided to Victor and his family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519.253.7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 3-5 pm and 7-9pm. Panakhyda (prayers) Monday at 7:30 pm. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (2000 Tecumseh Rd. E.) for visitation from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 am. Very Rev. Archpriest Roman Kocur officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in honour of Victor may be made to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, Heart Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Windsor-Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
