Obituary of Larry Gordon Lott

Larry Gordon Lott June 3, 1941 – August 9, 2020 Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side. Survived by his devoted wife of 57 yrs. Sandra, daughter Cindy Lavin (Bill), son Dan Lott, and adored grandsons Eric and Ryan Lavin. Predeceased by beloved son Ricky (1964), parents Hadley & Sylvia Lott, brother Jim, sisters Kathy and Lynda. Survived by sisters Gloria, Darlene (Ken), many nieces & nephews, special cousins in Windsor, Kingsville, Delta B.C., and treasured extended family in Winnipeg. Larry’s training as a marine mechanic led to an early career in boat sales & service. He later ventured into the hospitality industry, operating his own successful business until retiring to a life of joy & peace with his loving family. Larry was a man of many talents and hobbies. A self-taught musician, he played several instruments, was a past-president of the Essex-Kent Bluegrass Association, loved entertaining with his band, the Essex County Ramblers (Joe, Doug, & Bill), and, of course, the Harrow Fair. Always on the go, he loved bowling, golfing, and morning coffee with the gang in Belle River. He enjoyed a good story, relished a good laugh, appreciated a classic movie, was a world-class putzer, master of the make-work project, blessed with relentless determination and an acute sense of fairness. Be truthful, mean what you say, honour your word, stand up for yourself and those you love, be thankful, share your bounties, help all you can. “It’ll all come out in the wash”. The loss of his presence, guidance, love, and support truly breaks our hearts. Many thanks to Dr. Butler and the wonderful CCU Nursing staff (Jasmine, Christine, Deanna) for their kindness, care, and compassion. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd.
