Obituary of Marcella Teresa Battle
Born in Queensville, Inverness County, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on May 29, 1920. She was baptized at St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church,Glendale, Cape Breton on June 4, 1920, Marcella’s first journey was in a horse and wagon. She moved to Windsor in 1942 and married Wes on July 12, 1947. Marcella finally made her retirement in 1983 from a Riverside Variety Store. She was a long time and faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on July 28, 2020 at 100 years of age. Loving wife of the late Wesley (2007) with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Daughter of the late Duncan and Mary MacEachern. Predeceased by her siblings John Willie, Angus, Hughie Archie, Alex Joe, Dan Hughie, Kaye Livingstone, Jessie McGrath, Mary Mattatall, Margaret McDonald, and Anna Belle Carroll. Sister in-law of the late Doris Chedour, Edna Kivinen, Norma Huckle, Val Dewar and Audrey Storey. Survived by sister in-law Frankie Jeffrey. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Marcella had a very special relationship with her nephew Dwayne, friends Debbie and Jarrod, which enabled her to remain safe and in her family home into her 101st year. Visitation to take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (844 Raymo St.) on Saturday August 1, 2020 from 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234. If attending, please be mindful of restricted attendance numbers and please remember to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, the family have asked that donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Building Fund or to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada.
