Obituary of William "Popeye" Major
Passed away peacefully at Hospice on July 24, 2020 at 87 years of age.
Beloved husband of Marilyn (Miskin) for 63 years.
Loving father of RuthAnne (Stan) Vuk, Bruce (Diana), and Kevin (Annie).
Proud grandpa/papa of Melissa (Chad), Joseph, Christina, and Jonathan.
Deeply loving great-papa of Aleksander.
Bill will also be missed by his many, many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Hospice of Windsor -Essex for their excellent care and compassion.
A special thank you to Veterans Memorial Association of Windsor for their assistance and support.
Bill enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and his family. Bill was a dedicated member of the Goodfellows, the Legion Branch #143, a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, an Usher at Most Precious Blood Church and at Knights of Columbus where he became a Living member of the Knights of Columbus Bowling Hall of Fame.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a private service with Bill’s immediate family has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
