Obituary of August Wegener

Wegener, August "Gus" July 25, 1926 " May 23, 2014 The world is now a quieter place with the passing of Gus at the age of 87 years with family by his side. He has joined his beloved wife and buddy Cora (nee Heap) (2009). Beloved father of Janet and Tom Brent, and Gary and Kathryn Wegener. Devoted grandpa to Jennifer Cowie (Folkert Schwarz); Adam Boismier (Mindy Janisse); Matthew Wegener; Spencer Wegener; Nicholas Wegener; Jena Simpson (Aaron) and their children Kaleb and Aydin. He is predeceased by his siblings Rose, Vic and Fred. Dear brother in law of Beryl, Brian and Fred. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gus will be forever remembered by his friends Rachel Jaggernauth and Kathleen Smith who will always be regarded as part of our family. He was a proud Canadian Naval Veteran, Member of local 444 and a retiree of Chrysler. A special thank you to all the caregivers over the years who assisted us in Gus"s journey. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #143 ( 1570 Marentette Ave. Windsor,Ontario) from 2-6 pm. Memorial Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee will be held at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers please do a random "act of kindness" in Gus"s name or a donation to the Alzheimer"s Society.
