Obituary of Tommaso Giovanni Paonessa

PAONESSA, Tommaso Giovanni Passed away peacefully at Hospice of Windsor on October 28, 2013 at the age of 87. Loving husband of Maria (nee Latella) for 59 years. Predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Rosa Paonessa. Dear father of Rosemary (John Lefevbre), Josephine ( Raffaele) Coco and Nancy ( Ignazio) Butera. Devoted and much loved Nonno of Marie (Chad) Wilson, Francesco (Rosanna) Pacecca, Joseph Tibando (Meghan), Angela (Amir) Mardi, Marie Coco (Matt), Paolo, Dina and Tommaso Butera ( Kasey). Special Old Nonno to Joshua Wilson and 3 other great-grandchildren. Brother to Franca (Luigi) Nicoletti and predeceased by Maria ( Francesco) Pacecca. Brother in law to Carmela ( Pasquale 2009) Battaglia, the late Giovanni ( Lina) Latella, Teresa (Rosario) Scollica and Salvatore (Franca) Latella both of Italy. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Tommaso came to Canada in 1951 with his cousin Giuseppe Paonessa. Retired from Chrysler in 1991 after 32 years of dedicated service, Tommaso enjoyed his garden, folklore music and playing cards with good friends. Ultimately, spending time with his family was his pride and joy. A special thank you to Drs. Gresko, Sorenson, Hamm, Yousuf, Coulsey, Multari, Blake and their staff, Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic, CCAC, Revera and Hospice of Windsor. Your care and compassion for Tommaso will never be forgotten . To the special angels that took care of Tommaso in his last days, we are truly blessed to have met you all. E. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayer at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici for Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
