Obituary of John Valentich

VALENTICH, John Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2013, with his family by his side, in Windsor, at the age of 76. Born in Timmins Ontario, son of the late Marco & Francis Valentich. Beloved husband of nearly 20 years to Marjorie (nee Small) Valentich. Loving uncle of Linda Simetic & fianc" Warren Fullerton and David Simetic & wife Stephanie. Proud great uncle of Jordan and Michaela Drouillard and Avery and Aubrey Simetic. Dear step-father of Larry Dobransky, Barry Dobransky & wife Evelyn, and Mark Dobransky & wife Sandra. Step-grandfather of Barry, Marjorie, Matthew, and Aubree, and several step great grandchildren. John is predeceased by his sister Mary Simetic (nee Valentich). John worked for many years at Chrysler Canada before his retirement. John was recognized as a 50 year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America. He was a 40 plus year member of the Y.M.C.A., a proud member of the W.E.C.S.S.O. Senior Baseball League, and recently enjoyed volunteering for the Windsor Goodfellows. John will be remembered as an active and proud member of the community,he will be missed by many. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
