Obituary of Bernard Wilfred Hogan

HOGAN, Bernard ( Bernie) On February 22, 2013 at 87 years of age. On the 48th anniversary of her passing, Grandma Hogan welcomed her youngest son home. With his wife of 66 years Virginia Hogan, his son John (Alma), and daughter Shannon, his grandchildren Robert (Lisa) and Jonna (Matthew), his great- grandchildren Sydney, Ireland, Eden, Angelica and Michela by his bedside, Bernie received his final anointing. Loving son to the late John and Barbara Hogan, son-in-law to the late Alcide and Elmira Menard. Devoted brother to the late Leo, James (Kathleen), Francis (Jeanne), and Edward. Survived by his sisters-in-law, Pheobe and Angela Hogan. Devoted brother-in-law to the late Clarence and Eleanor Menard, Robert and Marie Menard, Jack and Margaret Menard, Gordon Menard, Donald Douglas and Andy Van Hooren (2013). Survived by sisters-in-law, Doreen Chodola (Richard), Claire Douglas, Diane Van Hooren and Sandy Menard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernie was a sales representative for Carling O' Keefe and Molsons for 35 years. He was also known in softball and basketball circles. Bernie was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus Council 1453, usher at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish for 60 years, and a great provider for the Downtown Mission. Visitation will be at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Prayers Tuesday at 8pm. Bernie will lie to rest Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, (910 Raymo Road) for visitation at 10:00am until time of funeral mass at 11:00am celebrated by Bernie's godson Msgr. Timothy Hogan. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Downtown Mission and In Honour of the Ones We Love.
