Sincere condolences. After reading the obit I spent at least an hour revisiting so many of the conversations I had had with my Mom about your Mom, and of all the pranks that my Dad and yours had been up to in their very long friendship. The name Lawrence Parent rolled off the tip of my tongue as though he was a household guest, and that name was rarely spoken by Mom without being paired with Florence. Mom did very much look forward to her visits. I honestly don't remember very much about your Dad's personality other than that he was similar to Tony, my Dad; I do however remember your Mom with a lot more clarity. She always struck me as very very quiet and graceful, sometimes a little 'proper', as was also my Mom (May Nadalin, n.Ouellette). Mrs. Parent (no first names for us kids, thank you) might have seemed quiet but I doubt there was ever a woman more resolute! She had an opinion - and let you know - quietly of course. She didn't HAVE to be loud; when she spoke, you KNEW , you felt the strength. I'd hear her say ".....you know, May, I think......." and my Mom - who was very strong in HER own way - would generally agree! I only remember the two oldest of you as we are similar in age, but I will never never not be amazed at how orderly and self-controlled you two were. Most kids I knew would be EVERYWHERE - especially my cousins. But the Parent girls were very smartly dressed, clean, reserved, polite and examples of how children should be. It's sad not to have your Mom anymore but you need to be VERY PROUD of her. Your Dad and Mom were my Ozzie & Harriet, and yours too. She gave IT ALL to you and you should be able to look at each other and see HER. Above all, that's what she has done. Thank you God. Bob Nadalin
