Dear Mary and family, I was so sorry to hear that Bill had died but I'm grateful that we'll see him again one day! Bill was such a big part of my childhood and I have many fond memories of him. Dear Mary - We were so sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. I haven't seen him too often in the past years but was able to keep track of him through Ken Brettle. I know Bill was a religious person and I can remember many years ago he would talk about the length of time we all have on this earth. I know he exceeded those expectations but that still doesn't make it any easier on you and the girls. Our sympathy and prayers go out to you and your family. God Bless. Larry and Mary Martin

At his memorial service, Bill's grandchildren emphasised how their grandfather had made many wise investments in their lives and in the lives of others. We would like to pay tribute to another of his investments. In the 1970s when we were working to establish a christian group on the University Campus, Bill was very supportive, acting for many years as Treasurer of the local Area Committee of Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship and, for a time, was a Corporation member of Inter Varsity, Canada. Bill's Kingdom Investment at that time bore much fruit in the intervening years not least when one of his grandchildren met her husband in the Campus IV Group some decades later ! Bill was a great friend - a pleasure to know and interact with. Our sincere prayers and condolences go out to Mary and the family.

Condolence from: Deborah McConkey My life has been enriched having known your dear husband, father and grandfather. I am grateful for having experienced his love, prayer support and keen sense of humour over the years. It is sad to lose a dear friend or family member but in the words of Psalm 30:5, it is good to know that although ?weeping endures for a night, JOY comes in the morning!? "Mr. Porter|" (Bill) has run and finished his race well, I pray that I will follow his lead. He is shining like the stars FOREVER AND EVER. I pray that I will be a BRIGHT LIGHT for the Son too!
