Obituary of David Batten

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of David Batten, surrounded by his loving family on November 26, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia, his beloved children, his forever little girl Jenna (Greg), Jordan (Christina), Jarrod (Lauren), Jay (Candace), Jeff (Julie) and grandkids Henry, Charlotte, Blade, Jetson, Everly, James, and Rowan who were his entire world and he was theirs.

A beloved husband, father, papa, entrepreneur, philanthropist and staple of the Windsor Essex county community. Dave was a businessman and true pioneer in the industrial coatings industry for over 50 years. Often referred to as the king, he started Mio Manz charities and raised millions for children with life threatening disabilities. To see the children he helped out over the years put a much bigger smile on his face than any of his business accomplishments ever could. He had a larger than life presence to anyone he ever met and he took pride in helping out anyone he possibly could. That was just the kind of man he was.

He was blessed with 7 grandchildren who absolutely loved and adored him and could not wait to see their papa. Although he is no longer with us his personality, power and presence will live on with everyone who knew him. Dave, pops, papa, dad and dadeeoh, we will miss you forever and life will never be the same without you. It brings us peace knowing that you are reunited with your parents, best friend Billy, and many more who are no longer with us today. Your legacy and impact will never be forgotten, your values and integrity will live on in the lives of everyone you had ever met.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 11am to 1pm, 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. Visitation will continue at the Banwell chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10am until the time of chapel service at 11am. A private entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
