Obituary of Anna Jessica Hancock
Hancock-Anna Jessica (Cerget)
Passed away quietly on Monday, November 25th, 12 days after the passing of her beloved husband Donald.
Loving mother to Christopher and wife Margaret (Bunn), Brian and wife Deanna (Cincurack), Laura and her husband Peter Dobrich. Predeceased by son Kenneth (1980) as well as parents Julius and Gizela Cerget, brothers John and Julius
Proud and loving Grandma to Jessica, Spencer, Forrest, Garrett, Landis, Brennan, Kendra, Aleksandar, Danijela and Stefan.
As a young woman Anna graduated from the St. Joseph Secondary School, following which she completed a one year Commercial Program at Holy Rosary School. During this time she was an active member of the C.Y.O. and the Regis Club at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Slovak Church. Once graduated from Holy Rosary she was hired by Johnson and McWhinnie Windsor Architects. It was here that she met her future husband Donald. Following a long courtship they were married at St. Cyril Church. Then followed a home purchase in Riverside where they attended St. Rose Church. It was here that all their children were baptized, confirmed and attended St. Rose Elementary School.
In 1975, having outgrown their Riverside home, they decided to design their own home and had it built in rural Gosfield South (now part of Kingsville).
Once the children were in the Kingsville school system Anna was hired as an Elementary School Secretary with the Essex County Seperate School Board. Anna worked at a number of schools before being promoted to the position of Head Secretary at St. Gregory School in St. Clair Beach from where she retired in 1994.
Anna was a wonderful dancer, always had a smile, was quick with a laugh, remained a very engaging and loving person right to the end - and she had 10 Grandchildren !
A special thanks to Dr. O'Callahan and staff, Doctors and Nurses at WRH Met Campus 4 North especially Nurse Becky
