Dear Sweet Sozan
It was a privilege to know you. Although, our meeting was strictly professional in appearance, your smile and your engagement with us made us feel close and always lifted our spirits. You asked questions and truly listened with bright eyed enthusiasm an interest. Occasionally we were Blessed to hear your beautiful singing voice as you worked. We will truly miss your presence on this earth. God keep you in peace and heal your families broken hearts.

Sending my deepest condolences to Sozan’s husband, family and friends. I first met her in high school at Brennan. She was a couple of years younger than me but we came to know each other through shared activities. Later we reconnected at the University where we were both involved with Sororities. She had such a bright light about her and a great personality. She will be fondly remembered by me and many who knew her.

This all still feels like a dream! I first met Sozan on my first day working at the Welcome Centre Shelter, and it was like we were old friends reconnecting after some time apart. She welcomed me with open arms, and I was allowed to be entirely myself around her; she brought out my shyness! She had that infectious laugh that filled the whole room, and she saw the good in every situation she encountered. I loved the passion she had for her family, theatre, music, helping anyone and everyone, and her hugs because, as she always said, " I'm a hugger," and she would just embrace you with her larger-than-life love for life. I want to thank you, Sozan, for being you and for being a great friend to everyone who had the opportunity to be around you. I wish there were more time to spend with you, but you have definitely left your mark on this world. My deepest condolences to your family and I pray that you rest peacefully my friend. Until we meet again. <3

My deepest condolences to Suzy's husband, Jeff, her family and close friends. I met Sozan a number of years ago through Lauren when Lauren hosted a combined birthday and graduation party. Suzy was a bright light who Lauren always spoke extremely highly of and who I could just tell through our brief interactions over the years both on and offline what a gift she was. She always went above and beyond for others and was constantly checking in on and cheering for her people. I'm extremely saddened by her passing, but will take comfort in knowing we've all got one heck of a guardian angel. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

I first met Suzy at university, where we connected through mutual friends, and I quickly learned what a lovely, vibrant, joy-filled person she was. But it wasn't until we reconnected many years later at Windsor Light that I got to know her more deeply, and my life will always be richer for the relationship we had. A fierce and thoughtful friend, so much fun to be with, always, the love she had for the people in her life was a gift, and a beautiful example. I'm heartbroken that she's gone, it still doesn't seem real. To Jeff and the whole family, I know how fiercely she loved and was loved by you; I can't imagine your loss. All my love, prayers, and deepest condolences. Rest in peace Suzy.

I was devastated and in complete shock when I found out about Sozan’s passing. I met Sozan through connections. One word to describe Sozan = uplifting. She always made every effort to cheer up those around her with her beautiful smile and amazing personality that you couldn’t help but smile.
A few things that I hold true in my heart about her:
- her angelic voice, especially when she would sing “Today Won’t Come Again” at her band performances. Brought tears to my eyes every time. And how ironic that she sang this.
And so I quote… Just as Sozan sang…
“Let our hearts not waste a moment
Summer days will always end,
Love can't stop that clock from turning
And today won't come again.
Ev'ry day's a gift from heaven,
Welcome as a long lost friend.
Oh my love, I love you dearly,
And today won't come again.
I could hold your hand forever,
But there'll come a moment when
One of us will be a mem'ry
For today won't come again.
Ev'ry day's a gift from heaven
Welcome as a long lost friend.
Oh my love, I love you dearly,
And today won't come again”.
Sozan, I will miss you so very much. Rest in peace habibti and just know that you have impacted so many people in your life for the greater good.
My condolences to Sozan’s entire family, especially Jeff. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

I met Sozan while my daughter was performing in The Christmas Carol with WLMT. I’ll never forget how she made my daughter feel so welcome and Sozan’s smile lit up each and every rehearsal! We would always joke about Sozan being my daughter’s 2nd mum because she played her mum on stage. Although our paths only crossed fleetingly, her memory will last a life time for both myself and my daughter. Our deepest condolences go out to Sozan’s family.

I had the pleasure of performing with Sozan a number of years ago in Bare: A Pop Opera. She played Sister Chantelle and she was my character's guardian Angel in a time of need. I could not have imagined anyone else playing this role! Not only was she so incredibly talented but she brought a light and energy to every single rehearsal that made every member of the cast feel so loved and supported. Even though I am no longer in Windsor, I feel like my memories working with Sozan are still so clear! I will never, ever forget her. Sozan was one of my very best friends in high school and we have always been like family. It didn't matter how many years would pass we would just pick up where we left off. From giggling about our crushes, to semi formals, nights out dancing and again crying over boys. We both joked that we were marrying Jeff's. She made me always want to be the best version of me because she was honestly THE best person I knew. My heart is broken but I will forever remember all the beautiful memories we have together. To your Jeff (not mine) we love you and we are here for you for ANYTHING you need.

I first met Sozan about ten years ago when she was training at the gym I worked at. I worked front desk, and I remembered her because every time she came in, she had this huge smile on her face and made me feel like we were family. She was so kind and such a ray of sunshine. Last year, we re-met again as she became a receptionist at All Systems Wellness. She made all of my patients feel so welcome and taken care of, and we'd often chat past my time at the clinic- often trying to practice our Spanish as we were both learning on DuoLingo. Sozan was like a warm cup of tea. A young soul gone too soon. My deepest condolences to Jeff, Sozan's Mom, and the rest of her family. She is not an easy one to lose, but I know she will be watching over you all. Her angelic voice is now singing with a higher choir. Love and miss you Sozan. <3

I have known Sozan since - I think - I was 7 years old. We met when I joined a the St. Rose Church Choir, and over the next several years she was a mentor to me in our youth group. I have fond memories of her teaching me the steps to the hustle to the tune of "December, 1963" by the Four Seasons. No matter where I ran into her over the next few decades, she always remembered and welcomed me like you would a member of your family. When she started to work for the Centre, it would feel like she had always been around. Last year, for my birthday, Sozan stayed up late baking me the most extravagant chocolate cake because I was always the one making other's birthday cakes. Such a beautiful gesture of one’s time to be considered in that way. She expected the fullest life could offer, and shared that with anyone she could.
I will remember Sozan for her joyful spirit. May she rest peacefully.
