Obituary of Michael Couchman

Michael's family, Donna Marie, Daniel, Mattie Marie, Dean, Logan, Gina and Nico are heartbroken to bring word of Michael's passing.

He is also survived by Donna Marie's family, a brother Thomas and cousins in Canada, California and Germany.

Michael was a devoted and loving son to John (2014) and Edith (2016). As a young man, he excelled in academics and was an accomplished pianist. His real passion was performance boats and being in, on or near water.

Faced with ever declining health, Michael increased his interest in history, the universe, its mysteries and the science of the unexplained. He found comfort overlooking the water from our porch and in his family of whom he was immensely proud.

Michael lived life as he chose, and let others do the same. He valued hard work and was "Mike" to his colleagues at Chrysler. He was also the owner of MDK Industries Ltd.

A supportive and loyal friend to many, Michael was also a generous brother to Thomas. A special thanks to Dan L. for contacting Michael everyday throughout his illness, and to Randy, Dan Y., Paul and Francis.

Michael loved his family a "whole bunch" and will be forever in our hearts and missed. He will be remembered for his animated weather reports, musical compositions featuring his beloved doggies and kitty kats, his quick wit, calm demeanor and quiet loving support.

For over 16 years, Michael endured health challenges with composure and without complaint. He exceeded medical expectations with determination, courage, positivity and exceptional care.

The family is so grateful to the team of health professionals that cared for Michael. Special thanks to Dr. Deklaj, Dr. Amster, Dr. Kennette, nurse Mike and the host of Hospice Angels.

Michael's family has held a private funeral. If you wish, a donation in Michael's name to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County would be appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel – Banwell Chapel.

And did you get what

you wanted from this life, even so?

I did.

And what did you want?

To call myself beloved, to feel myself

Beloved on the earth.
