Obituary of Nigel Ramcharan

Nigel passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 42 on July 23, 2024. Nigel is the beloved son of Margaret and Subhas Ramcharan and dearest brother of Adele (Carl) and Chantele (Olivier) and the admired uncle of Cassia, Keir, Noah, Cedric and Solange. He will be profoundly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. In addition, he was loved by his former wife and friend, Rola. Nigel adored his fur babies: the late Daisy, Theodore, and Nano as well as Buddy, Rosco, Biggie, Caicos, Coco, and Gigi.

From a young age, Nigel walked to the beat of his own drum. He was charming, hilarious, and had an infectious smile which allowed him to connect with anyone in an instant. He was deeply committed to his community and served with dedication as a Constable with Windsor Police for 17 years where he was cherished by his colleagues. He lived a life exemplified by acts of service and compassion that touched the lives of many.

Family was the most important to Nigel. He enlivened family gatherings and loved to spoil his nieces and nephews. He often said that his mom was his best friend, and he was incredibly proud of his dad and loved him dearly.

The family would like to thank the Windsor Police Association and Windsor Police Service for their outpouring of support. Thank you to the nurses and doctors who took care of Nigel at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519- 253-7235), on TUESDAY, JULY 30, 2024, from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at the same location on THURSDAY, AUGUST 1, 2024, with seating to begin at 10:00 am and the service commencing at 11:30 am. A procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery for interment will follow.
