I had the pleasure of knowing Jack since i was a young man. Jack and my father did a lot of good together around the province on behalf of the OPFFA. Fast forward to around 1981. I was playing in the OHL vs Windsor Spitfires and my last game before Christmas break was in Windsor. I would fly home to Ottawa after the game and my father made arrangements with Jack to take me to the airport that night. Mr Fenton, came to the game and then brought me back to his place as there was a few hours to kill. He fed me beers until it was almost spilling out. I made the mistake of trying to keep up with "King". As soon as he got me drunk enough he let the beast out of the basement. It was like a bear came out of hibernation from a cave. ( his dog) I almost pooped my pants and Jack was laughing his ass off. Thank you for everything you did for my family, myself and Firefighters across North America. RIP King. Dean De Fazio

To Jacks Family:Please accept my wife Judie’s and my sincere condolences on the passing of my great friend Jack, First and foremost he was an amazing friend and mentor to me and so many other OPFFA members. I was proud to serve as the 4th. District Vice President on the OPFFA and he taught me the meaning of service and dedication, to our fellow Association Members. We spent many enjoyable hours together at Association functions and I will be forever grateful for his counsel. I could tell you a myriad of stories about our times together, but space here would never hold it all , so best to use Bob Hope’s line, and just say, “ thanks for the memories “, I will always hold them dear. God Bless you and enjoy your place in heaven, you earned it my friend. Ted Guest, 4th. District Vice-President and Deputy Fire Chief, Oakville Fire Department, Retired

There are no words. Jack and Gus were such good friends for so many years. Jack kept in touch with me after Gus’ passing and we shared songs and poems to comfort each other as he lost Sandy around the same time. He was such a kind and gentle man….a true “King” for sure. Love ya Jack, give my Gus a big hug…I can hear you both laughing now!
Condolences and my deepest sympathy to the family.

I knew Jack back in 70's when I worked at Vic Tanny's in Riverside. I always remembered him. I knew he was a fire fighter at the time but I didn't realize he had acquired all of those credentials and titles. What I did know was that Jack was strong, humble, likeable, social, had much integrity, was an overall great guy and thus memorable. As a young man, he definitely made a positive impact on me and probably didn't realize it. I hadn't seen him since back in those days. When I saw notice of his passing from this earthly life, I was saddened for all of his friends family and myself. I also recalled those happy moments when I would see him at the gym. I hope your hearts, souls and minds take solace in the wonderful memories you have of this exceptional man. Blessings, thoughts and prayers to all of you.

To the Fenton family, I send my condolences. Jack and the Byng road gang used to fight fires at the old Walker road city incinerator. As 12 year old's, we were all saving the community. Little did we know that Jack would continue his life in the pursuit of helping others. Super guy.

I worked with Jack at Windsor Fire for most of my career. We were members of the Windsor Professional Fire Fighters Association Executive Board together, members of the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association together and attended many provincial, national and international events together. Jack was a compassionate, stalwart advocate for firefighters and his community. When it was time for a break from the serious things in life, Jack had a great sense of humour and we enjoyed many laughs together over the years. Jack loved birds. At times he advised vets on proper care. Jack will be missed by all of those who knew and loved him. Condolences to all members of the Fenton family. Condolences from Pat DeFazio in Ottawa, Doug Cassidy in Waterloo, Art Cutten in Guelph, and Wayne Willett, Pete Skowronek and Rich Judge from Niagara Falls. RIP Jack.

Jack devoted much of his free time to the service of his community. He was a champion on behalf of his fellow firefighters. We sat in his kitchen last year, and over coffee, spoke of his careers in law enforcement and the fire service. We made plans to get together again and record his stories for the Labour Council's historical record of the local men and women who helped shape our community because of their individual contributions. Alas, we missed the opportunity.RIP Jack - Percy Hatfield

We are heartbroken to hear of Jack's passing. He was a beloved friend to Tom from their youth and their early days with the OPP and Windsor Fire and Rescue. Then he was a pillar of strength as Mum lost Tom and, after Jack lost Bonnie, he and Mum were constant companions and very special friends right up to the end. They were blessed to have each other through the long days of Covid lockdown. We are proud to consider him part of our family too and we send our love and deepest condolences to all of HIS family as you mourn. (Photos: Mum and Jack enjoyed the wineries along the Erie Shores; they went to get Covid 19 vaccinations together; celebrating with us; enjoying socially distanced st. PATRICKS DAY 2021 at John Max with the family).

My deepest condolences to his family and friends and fellow Firefighters. I remember Jack for his love of birds and Chinchilas.I bought a Cockatiel from Jack and the bird died. He brought me another one that also passed away. When I had to tell Jack he suggested I should get a dog or cat. I was fortunate to work at Hdqr. for many years. A great guy and Firefighter. You will be deeply missed Jack. RIP Brother.
