Obituary of Arthur Jahns
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Art Jahns on March 17, 2024, peacefully with his daughters by his side. He is reunited with Norma, his beloved wife of 52 years. Loving father to Christine and John Malott and Karyn and David Templin. Adored Opa to Katie, Julianna, and Abby. Pre-deceased by his parents August and Lilli Jahns, and his brother Waldemar Jahns. Survived by his sister Lilla Frei (Ted) and sister-in-law Marilyn Jahns. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.
Art was a loyal employee of Hiram Walker and Sons Ltd. (Beam Suntory Canada Inc) for 62 years. He loved the history of Hiram Walker, Willistead Manor and the Walkerville area, and his tireless work in the Hiram Walker Archives will live on in the community for fellow amateur historians. He was an accomplished target shooter, talented stained glass artist and gifted woodworker.
Art was loved by everyone who met him. His quiet, humble nature left a lasting impression on all the lives he touched.
