Mrs. Ward was a part of my life, my entire life. As a child I remember her delicious baking, her amazing art, and her sense of humour! After my own mother passed, I received phone calls and loving cards (one a month ago sending angels) from Mrs. Ward that always expressed love and caring to me - I’ll never forget her thoughtful kindness. The best part of growing up in the Ward house along side all of the Ward clan was the laughter - esp at Christmas. My favorite memory I have is that she read this whole Harlequin series called “Captive Passions” which she kept on the hall table near Lois’ room. I snuck a book a week away from that table, when I was about 12. One time Mrs. Ward saw me put one back - she smiled broadly and just gave me a wink! I loved so much that she did not censor me! Nothing got by Mrs.Ward - and to this day, I think fondly about both Pirates and their beautiful captives! Thank you Mrs.Ward for putting up with me as a child, and for giving me motherly love and memories you had of me that still made me laugh in my 50’s. My sincere condolences to all the Ward children and to Mr. Ward. I love you all! Jan Sobocan
