Obituary of Gordon Andrew Mascaro

MASCARO, Gordon Andrew Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 18, 2008, with his loving family at his side, at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of 52 years to Cecile (nee Rocheleau). Dearest father of Chris Mascaro and wife Darlene, Connie MacKenzie and husband Scott, Matthew Mascaro and wife Brenda, and Maria Eid and husband Saide. Cherished PAPA and No. 1 fan of grandchildren Colin, Grant, Evan, Dawn, Shea, Dayna, Marissa, Samantha, Aaron, Alexandra, Alyssia, Ava, Abrianna, and great grandson Connor. Dear brother of Joseph Mascaro and his late wife Marge. Dear uncle of Patti Mascaro. Gordon retired after 35 years as a dedicated teacher with the Windsor Public School Board. Major Gordon A. Mascaro, CD was a former member of The Windsor Regiment (RCAC), The Windsor Regiment Senate, on the board of directors for the last 10 years with the Windsor Regiment Association, and also a founder and first Commanding Officer of the Riverside Legion 2828 Cadet Corps. Lifelong parishioner of Holy Rosary Church where he faithully served his beloved community as an Eucharistic Minister and Minister of the Word, as well as many years on various Church Committies. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday 7:30 p.m. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd.) for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Cancer Centre for the extraordinary care PAPA received and also the exceptional care of the Comcare nurses, especially the TLC of James Renaud. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or Drouillard Place.
