Obituary of Brian D'hondt

It is with great sadness, that we announce the peaceful passing of Brian at home surrounded by his family, on August 25, 2023, at the age of 81. Loving husband of Carol for 56 years. Cherished father of David (Nicole), Colleen (Kevin), Jason, and Sean (Caroline). Dear grandad of Fox, Jax, Xavier, Nolan, Nash, Oliver, and Sophie. Brother of Lyle (Annette), Kevin (Leanne), and the late Yvonne Deery (Michael). Predeceased by his parents Leon and Josie D’hondt. Brian will be missed by his extended family, and close friends. Devoted family man and faithful Catholic, he was called to the bar in 1968, and past president of The Essex Law Association. Brian practised law with passion until the day of his passing. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to the medical support teams, for the comfort, care and compassion provided to us during his final days. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. 519-253-7234, on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Parish prayers at 4:30 pm. A funeral mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd) on August 29, 2023 at 11:00 am. Cremation has already taken place.
