I was very saddened to hear of Brian's illness and passing. He was a wonderful lawyer and took good care of his clients. He was always willing to share his experiences and wisdom with other counsel, and had a wry sense of humour. He will be very much missed by the family law Bar and those who knew him. I did not know Brian well, but dealt with him on a number of files and appeared before him in Small Claims Court, I know he was a good lawyer, trustworthy and honest person, dedicated and a tribute to our profession. My condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Brian over the past thirty years. Brian was a great role model for younger counsel. While he effectively advocated for his clients, he practiced with fairness and integrity. He was a real gentleman and he will be no doubt be missed by all connected with the local family law system.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Carol and your family as we can’t be there to say our final goodbye. Brian was not only a brother and brother in law but also Lyle’s best man at our wedding in 1970. We will remember the wonderful memories of our many family gatherings as well as our exciting time in England together. As a child protection lawyer, Brian was compassionate, kind and understanding. His professionalism and poise was without blemish. He provided both mentorship and led by example to me as I began my child protection practice 23 years ago. Even when opposite me on a file, he never lost sight of the importance of increased civility whenever increased contest was called for. He was the perfect gentleman lawyer in child protection practice that encouraged counsel to be anything but. I am grateful for his Christ-like example. I am confident that I say that also for the parents that he represented and that he, in private moments, cared for to the point of tears, both shed in sadness for their sufferings, and in joy for their successes.

My sincere condolences, and prayers for the family. Brian was my best man at my marriage of Yvonne and me in 1966. Fond memories of the many family gatherings at Christmas, Easter and summer excursions including camping events , along with celebrations at the Keg steak house. And certainly a skilled and respected Lawyer. Rest in Peace dear brother-in-law.

Our Condolences to Aunt Carol, David, Colleen, Jason and Sean and the rest of the family. We are very sadden to hear about the loss of Uncle Brian and my Godfather. I will always remember when I was younger and during the holidays when we had our get togethers at my grandparents, I sat on Uncle Brian's lap a lot and he would tease me to make me giggle.
