Obituary of Luciano Sovran

LUCIANO SOVRAN

July 26, 1938 - June 16, 2023

Peacefully on June 16, 2023 surrounded by his beautiful family, Luciano took his last breath and was embraced by his siblings, Maria, Remigio, Enrico and Enrichetta. Devoted husband of 60 years and dancing partner to Maria Sovran, cherished Dad to Paula (Renzo) and Paul (Sonia). Adored Nonno to Andrea (Laura), Alesandra, Luke, Matteo, Drew and Madison. He was loved deeply by his cugini, cognati (Girolamo, Vanda, Ricardo, Antonietta and Silvano, Licia and Arnaldo, Elena and Roberto, Christina and Gary), nipoti and amici.

He could resolve any problem; be it with his hands or by calling the right person. He was happiest surrounded by his family or hunting friends but most content when hunting with his grandsons. He taught us to be hard working, to never give up when a challenge arose because there was a solution. He was not afraid to travel to foreign lands while working for the Collavino Group (Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mauritius). Without knowing the language, he still managed to complete the job and made friends each step of the way. He was a devoted member of the Fogolar Furlan and in his later years he filled his days with keeping the club up to its high cultural standards through his knowledge of construction and hard work. He was also a proud member of the Alpini.

Visitation will take places at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. 519-253-7234, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers at 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave, Windsor, ON) from 10am until the time of the service at 11am. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. In memory of Luciano, donations can be made to the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.
