Obituary of Fr. Richard Edward Cartier
CARTIER, Fr. RICHARD, It is with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Fr. Richard Cartier on February 1, 2020 at the age of 80. He was a pastor at many parishes in Windsor and London including, St. Michael's Church, London, Christ the King Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, St. Vincent de Paul Church, St. Theresa Parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and finished his ministry at St. Anne’s Church. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary (nee Annan) Cartier. Beloved nephew of Vera Sadler and Mary Lou Bechard. Dear brother of sisters Barbara Wallace (Doug), and Elizabeth Burnham (William). He will be dearly missed by his nieces Kristen Macioge (Nick), Jennifer Carlaw (Clint), Amanda Reineck (Erich) his nephew Devin Morrison (Janet), and great uncle of Reid, Ozzie and Frances Macioge, Colvil Carlaw, Camden Reineck, Kaitlyn Lecompte, Makenzie and Charlotte Morrison, Madeleine Carlaw and Catherine Reineck and many cousins and their families. Special godfather of Michael Flanagan. A special thank you to the staff at WRH-Met Campus, 4th Floor for the excellent care they gave Fr. Richard, also Fr. Larry Brunet, Fr. Tom Janisse and Dan Souilliere for the frequent visits, it was a great help. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at St. Anne’s Parish (12233 Tecumseh Road East) from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
