We are deeply sorry about the loss of our dear friend and priest Fr. Cartier. He was a wonderful friend as well as our pastor. When my husband had a triple bypass surgery in London a number of years ago he drove to London to visit my husband and pray with him. Another thing that we are thankful to him for is that he helped my sister - in - law get her annulment. Our granddaughter lives in Oshawa and wanted to be baptisted in Windsor and the priest in our parish was unable to do it, yet Fr. Cartier did it for us at his church at that time. There were so many more things he did for us family and friends and we all say he is our favourite priest. We just want to family to know what a wonderful priest he was to us at Chrysler King. We are very saddened and heartbroken to learn about the passing of our beloved Father Cartier. He was our priest for many years at St. Theresa’s Church in Windsor. He was the one that married us in 2001. We have been so blessed to have him as our priest! He was a true God’s gift to everyone, as he thought us about God’s love, compassion and forgiveness. He brought us closer to God and he brought God closer to us by his work, devotion and service. We miss him everyday and often talk about him after his retirement. The world lost an amazing man as God reclaimed his gentle soul! Rest In Peace Father and thank you! Please accept our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in knowing how much we all loved him! My late husband Ted Kowalski and Fr. Richard were friends from the Seminary days. They always kept in contact with each other, especially for his Post Christmas Dinners. Fr. Richard was truly a Holy and humble Priest and a true Friend . I will miss him a lot. condolences to his two sisters and their families. Rest In Peace and give Ted a hug. Mary Kowalski

Father Cartier married us, and was my pastor at OLMC. We loved him dearly, and his voice was always after that like a dear voice of a shepherd who had once been our guide growing up! He never forgot a name, even years later. What a remarkable man and Father; so gentle, kind and good. We love you Fr. Cartier. Peace, love and joy, Dawn Ibrahim and family

First met Fr. Richard sixty years ago when I became a classmate at St. Peter's Seminary and proceeded to Ordination in 1965. I am pleased to hear reports of a good minister of the gospel. I will grieve his death, and offer my condolences to his family on their loss.

So saddened to hear of the passing of Father Cartier! I was so fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him, in his years at St. Theresa’s Church, while I was a teacher at St. Jules. I will always remember his warm, kind, welcoming, friendly and supportive ways, and how memories of this wonderful man would resurface when I would cross paths with him following his retirement, when he would occasionally fill in for our priests at St. John Vianney Church. I met Fr. Cartier in 1981 at a cursillo weekend. We had an inspiring weekend. I enjoyed it very much.Then years later would see him again at St. Annes the past few years. Very friendly ans always easy to talk to. Will miss his smiling face every Sunday.

He was so amazing, he made my kids want to go to church. His message was always uplifting and loving, truly spoken from his heart. When my son was a toddler he would nap during mass and on the way out he would always say "hey Kyle did you have a good nap?" but as my children got older it was never a struggle to get them to a mass that Fr Cartier was saying. He was truly a blessing to know. He will be missed. Love the Duggan Family

My wife and I had the incredible privilege to know and work with this humble servant of Christ’s Church. He was an exceptionally gifted priest who embodied the true call of his ministry. His first and primary role was to serve. He did this with compassion, empathy and love. Rest well my friend ... and I hope Fr. C does not give you too much trouble in your new home.

We worked together at Christ the King Church in the early 80s. It was an exciting time for lay parish ministry. Dick was a wonderful to work with - open, supportive, genuine. I will miss visiting with him and catching up on life. Rest In Peace my friend.
